Turn a cruiser into a cafe racer?

https://assets.carandclassic.com/uploads/cars/yamaha/C1853800/yamaha-xv-1100-virago-67dd7f0ebcf83.jpg?fit=fillmax&h=1200&ixlib=php-4.1.0&q=85&w=1200&s=90b8ca387ce63161e804934503985f4b

I think not. Sick

Definitely not the worst I've seen, and more importantly a massive MASSIVE improvement on the original bike.

No disrespect here. Not by a mile.

Did your build inspire Yamaha?

https://ridermagazine.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/Yamaha-SCR950-beauty.jpg

TBF the SCR* does have slightly different geometry to the Bolt.

*SCR is short for "Scrambler" apparently.

I dunno, looks reasonable to me apart from the red disc on the side
which is a bit garish and that bike looks way too tubby to be any kind of scrambler
I don't like how the seat appears to lean back a bit though

Not a cafe racer, a flat tracker. Looks too heavy to be competitive, though. Air filter looks way too inadequate if that engine is pulling any kind of load, and it's in an awkward location, in my opinion.

If that is indeed a Yamaha Virago, that is where the OE air filter connects to a plenum that feeds both carburetors.

Definitely not something I'd want to own but, as others have said, it no longer looks like a giant wheeled Christmas tree, so I would argue that the job's been at least partially successful.

It needs the rear end jacking up by a fair bit, I’d say 7-10cm.

Not always as simple as a shock change when it comes to shaft drive. infact id say if you wanted 100mm of lift you'd be better off just making a taller subframe. Wouldnt get the nose tipped up more like a suspension lift mind.

stinkwheel Well I just had my hands up a pigs fanny. Which makes your concerns pale into insignificance.
