Shorts & T Shirt!

I'm sure this is probably an Annual discussion although the previous post I searched was OLD.

Is there an award for spotting the first Shorts & T shirt on a Fast Mover? Bit like the first swallow of Summer.

I'm ''Trying'' to be more forgiving in my Old Age, and I'd be interested in hearing if anyone thinks there's an Up Side to riding like this ..... it just makes me cringe when I see it.

I've been off a couple of times, luckily at low speeds, resulting in scuffed leathers, scratched paint work and bruised ego. Luckily No Flesh left on Tarmac.

I went out to the shops on my bike in a t-shirt on Tuesday.

It's ok though, I don't need your forgivness because it's absolutely none of your business what I wear.

Get better clothing with better venting is my advice. We have riding jeans now that were never a thing when I started. Jeans, boots vented textiles, helmet and summer gloves. There is no real excuse these days.

But, isn't it ĵust funking cold and uncomfortable?

At 7am my jacket without lining is cold. At 3pm in 18° my hoodie or vented mesh are OK until I hit 50.

At 30+ degrees I'm sitting in the garden with beer.

Wear what you like, don't ask for sympathy.

is it any worse than all the people that wizz around on electric scooters/bicycles these days wearing zero protection, not even a helmet?

i see a hell of alot more people on those scooter things than i do motorbikes, including young children. and some ride them atrociously.

Know what you mean DS. Took the bike to work a few weeks ago thinking, '' We've had some nice Sunny Days''.

Made the mistake of wearing my Summer Gloves .... Soon Regretted that .. Nearly had Frost Bite by the time I got to work!

It's that awkward time of the year though... 1 degree on my morning commute, 16 degrees on the way home, and not really enough luggage capacity to carry my extra jumper, thermal liner, thermal trousers etc in my top box...

All that said - i've still commuted by bike every day this past week or so.

The sunny ride home is worth it!

I go bear chested with a mankini and flipflops. But safety first and all that so I wear a lifejacket. Waterproof, so safe from floods as an added bonus.

I always wear gear, whatever the weather. Other people can do whatever they want... couldn't care less.
