hi im from the Philippines we have a tradition here in our country when we celebrate new year we make noises with our bike's by revving the engine so that it makes noises. so i have a 150CC bike with an open exhaust system, also bought an programmable ECU with tuning software, does anyone here have an idea on how to tune my bike so that my exhaust shoots flames/fire for maximum noise

i find it hard to tune the ECU
because when i increase the fuel the engine dies
and when i increase the ignition degree the engine dies. please if anyone have any idea

Never tried this as usually its an effect most of us try to avoid
but top of my head
I'd say retarding the ignition and loosening the exhaust headers
and leaning out the mixture can help induce back fires

Intermittantly cut then re-engage the spark. If the spark is cut while the engine is spining, it will push the fuel charge into the exhaust instead of detonating it. If it fires on the next revolution, it will detonate what's in the exhaust.

You used to do this by revving up the bike then flicking the kill switch. ECU-wise, Id say if you set the rev limiter lower than usual then held the throttle open, it would probably do it.

It goes without saying, this is bad for your engine.

Stop trying to tune the ECU, put it back to standard and then the bike will run without dying.

If you want flames then the simple answer is to get an exhaust flame kit. https://www.hotlicksexhaust.com/ (other kits are also available)

Careful though because not everyone is a fan of you bouncing off the rev limiter. https://www.topgear.com.ph/news/motoring-news/illegal-mufflers-confiscated-destroyed-tagbilaran-bohol-a5361-20250103?rainpal=scam
