Oh fuck I love a decent bit of rib eye, medium rare Wub

I have just licked the plate in a very childish fashion because (1) now that I am grown up (and live alone Laughing ) I can do what I like; and (2) I had root veg mash with broccoli, cauliflower and smoked bacon in home-made cheese sauce - very plate-lickable.

Yes I know I'm eating late, I've been doing everything late today cos the Esteemed Daughter threw my routine out first thing this morning, by calling from Australia and doing the gender reveal thing.

It's too hot to eat a proper meal today so, for tea/supper, I just had ham and cherry tomato salad with crusty buttered bread and a protein shake.
Obviously using sweet iceberg lettuce. None of that poncy and bitter/peppery radicchio/rocket etc.

@Jimbo

...And yet you've posted and got involved with the thread to voice your opinion about how lame the topic is?
Mmm Question

Generally speaking, if something bores me on a forum and I've got nothing positive or constructive to contribute I will swerve it and keep my gob shut.

Great thread, by the way.

No idea who he is or what he was like.
His username seems to describe his personality and attitude though (i.e/aka "KNOB").
Anyway, moving on, another day in BCF paradise...

You had the decency to contact me privately with quite fair/reasonable advice so I'll play the game and stay on my collar/leash instead of getting irate...babe Wink Cool

Aargh, hellcat! No clues during the trial by initiation, you know this. Toughens ‘em up and/or weeds ‘em out. Mind you, we’re an ageing demographic and I wasn’t even here during the wild days I’ve read about. What the hell was I doing back then?

Anyway, for lunch I really did have a smoothie - which I almost never have!

I had some pineapple pieces that were about to go off - they get all sharp and fizzy when they're going off - that'll be the bromelain.

So I whizzed them in the blender with a banana but it was too thick and gloppy - then I remembered I had a carton of coconut milk in the cupboard, so I made a pint of rumless Pina Colada for my lunch.

It was fucking awesome and helped me concentrate enough to get through the minutes of last week's meeting.
Cool Thumbs Up

You're lucky I "kind of like/respect you" but under the threat of a ban.
If I let loose my verbals with no restrictions I would shock and sicken you tbh...babe Wink

Sounds gross but each to their own taste I suppose...
Big fan of fresh pineapple though...

Nando's half-chicken, extra-hot and a salad for the wife. Not what we originally intended...

There's a new chicken place, "Slim Chickens", and we went to check it out. I'd previously tried Canada's "MB Chicken" and that was pretty good.

Slim Chickens has the typical touch-screen ordering system, horrendously put together (that's my professional opinion BTW) and it took us three attempts to get it right. We sat down and waited...

In the meantime I analysed the receipt layout: graphic logo missing, no QR code for the survey. Obviously the template was made for a different printer model. Slack, not a good omen, so we set a time limit of 30 mins before kicking off Smile After 20 mins we got one of our drinks Neutral

Eventually the manager realised the error of paying 10 cents less than minimum wage and hurried over but then made the fatal mistake of making excuses.

https://i.giphy.com/8vUEXZA2me7vnuUvrs.webp

Your problems are none of my concern when it comes to hospitality so I politely* refused and got a refund. And... of course the single muppet on the single "real" till isn't bright enough to recall a previous order even with said order dated and serialised in front of him so we waited for the order to be re-entered line by line Rolling Eyes It was fine, me and the wife passed the time by talking loudly to each other about what a joke the service was.

/rant:off

Then we went to Nando's and the service was a lot better. There was even beer!

*passive-aggressively
