I know there are loads of threads on here about this, i was in the same situation and decided to get a 600 as for the same price of a good 400 you can get a good 600 so why not? Obviously the insurance will be high but all you need is to derestrict the 600 and you've got the bike you always wanted as long as you've got the restriction certificate and don't get caught above 110mph you should be alright Wink Wink

Suzuki Goose 350...

I have one for sale too... 32 bhp on the button, goes like stink, got me in court anyway.

Yours for just £1200 ono, just had oodles of work done to it.

Honda Bros 400, 33bhp out the factory so doesn't need restricting. Or the Suzuki Goose 350 which also doesn't need restricting.

If you're going to keep it at 33bhp then if you get a bigger bike and restrict it you're paying more on the insurance despite it not being more powerful than cheaper to insure bikes.

Actually Ste, this is not so true these days, with my quote with Motorcycle Direct I am with "AXA-Young riders, restricted scheme". Which basically means I got a low premium because my bike is restricted to 33BHP.

Bennetts also offered me the reduced restricted scheme.

This might also answer why my insurance is only £300 TPFT. Smile

If they're offering a discount for it being restricted then I can see them starting paying more attention to the bike actually being restricted. Neutral

Yes, of course, which is a downside. However if it means cheaper premiums I guess that is a slight improvement. Smile

Agreed.

Coppers really dont give a fuck. To be honest what i got pulled for... at 33 brake i wouldnt have been able to do... and i got a slapped wrist. Even if id got a producer i coulda brought the cert, but he didnt even ask.

Anyone know what bodycheck is police slang for? Is it to check bike is taxed/insured etc, or is it to check your licence status?

All he did was give my name, didnt bring up my past court-ness, and let me go.

Agree with ste - they'll pay more attention to it, but if you're keeping it restricted ANYWAY, there's no harm.

Jon - You know which one I'd pick if I could...
