Blair to help oversee Gaza transition under Trump plan

A comprehensive peace plan has been drawn up and our Tony is going to head up the "Board of Peace" Very Happy The war will end, aid will flood in and all the hostages (still left alive) will be released. And the best news: if the Dark Lord is over there he won't have enough time to fuck things up in this country!!! Dance!

Now we just need Hamas to agree...

Don't think it will really matter to Hamas officials if they agree or not, Mossad is going to 'neutralise' them whatever happens. I hope some of the hostages will be released alive but I have my doubts if any are still breathing.

Anything that keeps Blair's nose out of UK business has to be a good thing though.

With all due respect, did you read our posts or just the thread title? The point is the arch-traitor will have his hands full. No one gives two shits what the outcome is...

I just want the needless suffering / slaughter to end.

Don’t ask me what the answer is because I don’t know but I can’t see how a foreign leader & an aggressor get to decide what’s fair, what’s not & where the lines should be drawn.

It will stop when Israel is banned from the Eurovision song contest. They will never recover from the ignominy.

Isn't voting in an organisation whose sole aim is to destroy another nation and its peoples
then playing victim when a planned, deliberate, murderous attack blows up in your face a classic example of FAFO?
Had they been trying to build schools, hospitals, farms, industy and develop tourism
with a positive attitude to modern development, I might have had more sympathy.
Even other Arab nations don't seem to want anything much to do with them.

I'm more concerned at what is happening here

Dare we say that the Orange Man did some good here, or are the lefties still wanting the war to carry on?

Must be a terrible dilemma. If the was is over we cant howl at Israel as genociders. If the Trumpet has succeeded where everyone else has failed, how can we spin that it's still his fault? I bet Starmer twists it that him recognizing Palestine was the real reason the war was brought to a close. Rolling Eyes

Trump needs a hiatus to allow him to re-arm Israel with US equipment without falling foul of international disapproval.

I note he's graciously agreed to allow EU countries to pay him to arm the Ukrainians with US equipment too.

If you're looking for Trumps motivation for doing anything at all it's 100% of the time going to be either personal profit or self aggrandisement. If it's not obvious at the time, you need to look harder. In fairness, this might do both, he REALLY wants a Nobel peace prize and he probably owns a significant shareholding in some US arms manufacturers.

Trump purportedly wrang the Venezuelan bird who did win to offer his congratulations and apparently she did the usual "this isn't for me, this is for all the people" bit, along with a hat tip to US support. Even so, Trump is claiming she wouldn't have won the Nobel Peace Prize without his help.

TBF, if it's just Trump's ego that needs feeding with all of this stuff there's more chance of incidental benefit to the rest of us. "I love you, please stroke my ego" versus the "I hate you all, look away while I fill my pockets" line from previous incumbents in the office.

and there never has been peace in the middle East.

Just read the Old Testament. Basically a story of the Jewish people escaping imprisonment in a totalitarian state, wandering the desert lost for a period of 40 years then stealing a country off the Palestinians Philistines by military force.

Revolution etc.

Next step occupation by a vast military empire followed by crusades?

Sorry, Romans first.

So where will we find an expansionist regime who conquers other countries by a combination of economic and military force. With a megalomanaical leader who gives lip service to their parliament then goes on and does what he wants while claiming it is all in the name of peace and for the good of civilisation. They would need to be prepared to move in with their military to enforce this "pax" then install puppet governments in the area to give the illusion of still being in charge while they are being fully exploited for their labour and resources.

THEN crusades.

If Israel have sealed Gaza, how come Hamas have moved 7000 gun toting thugs into the place?

Israel’s modern military razed Gaza to the ground, relentlessly pursued and killed Hamas leaders wherever they were hiding and demanded release of all the sausages while Israel’s ally and now supposed ‘peacemaker’ the USA watched and then threatened ‘all hell’ unless Hamas relented. That’s a funny kind of peace process. When Trump wants us (and the Nobel committee) to ‘see what I have done’ he simply stepped in at the last minute and awarded victory to the most aggressive and powerful side, just like he would like to in Ukraine. They might as well give the prize to Netanyahu for ending it.

Incidentally, is old Trump unable to grip a biro or does he choose to use a Sharpie so that the arch-narcissist’s signature is the most prominent thing on the page? Apparently he’s being using a marker pen for decades so it’s probably the latter.

Was there a realistic alternative?
