I think I last properly cried about 15 years ago now when I lost my dog too soon and it had to be put down.

This morning because of the pain slowly wearing me down. An hour after taking some pain killers and all was well with the world.

My last dog (seems a bit of a theme on here).

I'm embarrassed to say I didn't hurt that much when my Gran died, even though she had pretty well brought me up while my mum was working to feed us. I don't think I even cried when my mum died but I was a selfish little cvnt in my late teens early 20's.

I've been sad when my other dogs have died but Brodie was something special. I got him as a rescue and he was five then, the most gentle trusting soul you could ever want. Sadly I only had seven years with him and some of those I was still serving at sea. The day I had to take him to the vets because he couldn't walk any more was the worst day of my life, made even worse because he was still as sharp as a pin mentally and knew something was not normal.

RIP my friend.

Piccy just because he was the most handsome boy ever. Wub

I had forgotten that watching The Repair Shop sometimes brings tears to my eyes when I see how emotional people become with their restored memories.

So I managed to hold the tears back.
But only just.

Music makes me cry, as can sporting achievements but people dying don't. I have walked past corpses without feeling anything other than revulsion to their injuries, but music can break me. I know this is not normal.

No, I definitely feel moved by some compositions. Don't put yourself down.

Thursday, after I carried my brother's coffin into the service.

I'm normally pretty stoic, but seeing a slideshow of us as kids and later photos of us together with our wives and kids prompted a few chest heaves and a leaky eye or two. The music didn't help either.

He was only 55, heart attack. He was my older brother so literally known him my whole life. Sad for me, but I'm even more sad for his wife and grown up kids.

I doubt it was ever going to turn into a bucket of laughs.

Each morning,

My wife wakes me up as Dot wakes up,
Feel the lil kicks in her belly.

Makes the world seem right to me.
Such a tiny fragile thing, is just growwing and feeling alright for the day.

Oh god yes.
I remember the first time I heard Philip Glass Violin Concerto 2nd movement, I was driving my car down Lower Thames Street and my eyes all filled up with tears, it was so beautiful. I had to pull over and get my shit back together again.

That was quite a long time ago, obviously.
