You know you've posted 3 different bikes? A K era GSX-R600, an SRAD era GSX-R600, and a GSX600F which is basically a Bandit with a square section frame and a jellymould fairing.
What do you want from the bike? Do you want to commute on it? Do you want to do trackdays?
The SRAD (corona colours) is a decent enough bike but it's definitely a generation behind the K1. Its bigger, heavier, peakier and with less peak power. They are essentially classics now. The K1(blue and white 2002 reg) will be a flipping great sportsbike, but it might break your back if you're not as flexible as you once were.
The GSX? Well it's stupid money for a bike that is not very well regarded. They are fat, heavy and not particularly agile. If you got one for £1000 to commute on, I'd say well done, but if you want one to do trackdays on, and you pay that much? I'd be calling the men in white coats unless you really had a reason like your Dad used to race one or some weird emotional attachment like that.
Do you want to work on it yourself? Do you plan to get the suspension rebuilt?
Need more info. ____________________ British beauty: Triumph Street Triple R; Loony stroker: KR1S; Track fun: GSXR750 L1; Commuter Missile: GSX-S1000F
Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another. |

Some other kind soul here mentioned sticking a few quid down on an R1 & scratching the itch but I’ve struggled to find a cheap(er) one.
I want a bike I can have a bit of fun on & see if I can put up with a bit of discomfort while having aforementioned fun!

So you want a supersports to do some hooning on? On the road? Trackdays? Club racing?
What else have you ridden sportsbike-wise? Because if nothing, any of the 600 supersports will blow your mind. Maybe something like a CBR6 which can hoon with the best of them (and hold many a track record) but can also happily do your daily commute or a bit of touring. I got my wife one (early alloy frame model) and it's a really beautifully set up bike that compliments your riding while at the same time calls you a pussy for winding off in the corners.
I'd suggest an R1 would potentially be a bit much if the bikes in your sig are what you've ridden to-date. They are a bit much for me and I've been riding for 30 years. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. I did the 2010 Round Britain Rally on my 350 Bullet. 89 landmarks, 3 months, 9,500 miles. |
