Hi all,
I have the complete unit, it’s been in store for years
I want to take it apart to renew the plates, I guess they are probably stuck, I need to know from anyone who has done this, how many plates friction etc, so I can order
I have looked at drawings but it’s misleading, it only shows a friction plate and a metal plate ?
Any help much appreciated

You done one of that type of clutch before?

Pretty sure it's a C90 style centrefugal clutch on those? They are a fair bit more complex than a standard manual one. If you don't have a workshop manual, I would strongly suggest getting one, there are linkages, cams, springs and ball bearings to remove before you get to the clutch pack itself which all need to be put back in the right place on reassembly.

Remember to clean out the centefugal oil filter while you're in there.

The C90 ones have three friction plates, 2 of one shape and one of another and two steel plates. I'd imagine the C110 is similar.

Have to confess it’s the same clutch, I got a complete new basket way back from the states, I could not find enough info, I want to oil and put new plates in before I put back in engine.
I did find info but not enough detailed info on clutch assembly
Can I ask, what workshop manual do you recommend please ?
Thanks for your help

Its been over 30 years since I rebuilt one of those on a C90 but I never needed a manual, they're very simple.

If its in a bike, lay it on its side, makes things a lot easier. Seem to remember there are 3 bent metal levers on top in the centre of the clutch pack, these are the bits that are easier to fit with the bike on its side.

Here you go:

Which reminds me, you NEED JIS screwdrivers. The centrefugal filter cover is held on with three JIS countersunk screws, they can be tight and you WILL strip the heads if you try to use a phillips or posidrive. They can be tight. Vessel make good ones. They also do ones with an integral impact driver function so you can smack the end of the driver with a hammer to loosen the screw.

It appears you'll also need a castle nut spanner for the centre nut.

What year is it? The parts fisches I've found for C110 so far all show the semi-auto clutch with the three ball actuator cam.

Found this:
https://www.icenicam.org.uk/library/Honda/C100_-_C102_-_C110_-_C114_service_manual_1963-01.pdf

Page 18. Looks like the clutch pack itself is the same as the early C90s. Two steel plates, three friction plates but two of one type, one of a different type.

Many many thanks
When I took the original clutch to pieces there was only 1 friction plate and 2 metal plates, acootding to the manual there should be 2 friction plates
Getting somewhere at last
