GTA3 is done. GTA3 and GTA4 are my favourites.
But, VC next (non-remastered of course).

Tonight Mathew, I will mostly be killing Promised Consort Radahn
Finished Shadow of the Erdtree. I had a final wander about, couple of small areas I'd missed. Kicked the big fucker in the nads and kerb-stomped his twink boyfriend, Miquella. I then went back to the old game and farted in the general direction of the last two bosses and they crumpled too
The SotE map isn't as big as the original Lands Between but it has a lot more verticality which can be confusing. Overall a good sequel though. ____________________ Royal Enfield Continental GT 535, Husqvarna Vitpilen 401, Yamaha XSR700, Honda Rebel, Yamaha DT175, Suzuki SV650 (loan) Fazer 600, Keeway Superlight 125, 50cc turd scooter |

As a complete contrast to Souls games: Keeper
I don't know what this game is. It's sort of like experiencing one of those arthouse animations Channel 4 used to be known for. Sound and imagery blow past Avatar levels. The game is mostly simple puzzles but they're only there to distract you so you don't get sensorily overwhelmed ____________________ Royal Enfield Continental GT 535, Husqvarna Vitpilen 401, Yamaha XSR700, Honda Rebel, Yamaha DT175, Suzuki SV650 (loan) Fazer 600, Keeway Superlight 125, 50cc turd scooter |

Dispatch
A down on his luck, ex-superhero has to wrangle the Suicide Squad Phoenix Squad* into some sort of coherent team. The "game" comprises of very high quality cartoons (which you can optionally "interact" with by the occasional swipe or keypress) and a staff management screen. If you like the fiendish simplicity of "Papers Please" you'll be fine with it.
TBH the game part is crap but the cartoon sections and incidental dialogue is top notch and keeps you invested. Note: this is an adult game and even with a profanity filter and blur for naughty bits you still wouldn't let kids anywhere near it

Cronos: The New Dawn (Steam/W11) - 8/10
Imagine Dead space jumping between dystopian future and 80s Poland. It's a slow paced 3rd. person view action/survival horror game with light puzzles, genuinely well written story and narration, great visuals (UE5) and I even enjoyed the soundtrack. The game difficulty is allover the place, or I was just playing the game wrong. You have limited space in your inventory where you carry everything and each weapon uses different ammo that also takes space in your inventory. You can upgrade your suit, inventory size and weapons, but not everything in one playthough, or at least I wasn't able to do it. The game does have New game+, though.
As for the technical point of view, for a UE5 engine game, it ran surprisingly well on my system (9700x, RTX 4070 Ti Super, 64GB DDR5, NVMe) for my 4K60Hz target, using DLSS quality, no frame gen. The game does have hardware ray tracing, but it's way too subtle for how taxing it is in this game. ____________________ '87 Honda XBR 500, '96 Kawasaki ZX7R P1, '90 Honda CB-1, '88 Kawasaki GPz550, MZ 150 ETZ

Old School Rally - (Steam/W11) - 6/10
Now, what a nice blast from the past. It feels like all of the 90's PSX rallye games with a strong inspiration in the Colin McRae Rally 1.
Right from the start the intro video brough me back to 90s. The game also has CRT filter, dithering and texture warping, making the game look and feel like you're playing an actual PSX game, especially the texture warping is done so well, I would believe the game ran on an actual PSX.
The stages are not too long, easy to learn, not too hard to master gameplay, entertaining arcade driving model. The cars are not licensed, but you can tell what they are supposed to be. The soundtrack is also very 90s and the game even has got a split screen multiplayer. ____________________ '87 Honda XBR 500, '96 Kawasaki ZX7R P1, '90 Honda CB-1, '88 Kawasaki GPz550, MZ 150 ETZ

I remember playing Sega Rally, the way it hypnotised you and drew you into the zone. |

Max Payne (PC) - 9.5/10
Yesterday I found a Max Payne 1 and 2 bundle on Steam for just €4.49 and had to have it. Now I'm playing Max Payne again and it's still amazing. The narration (incl. voice acting), art style, music and even the story line are still top-notch entertainment. Gameplay is dated by still fun. One of the first, if not the first, games with bullet time, with a lot of inspiration in the first Matrix film.
I previously finished the game on several computers going from Windows XP, to Vista, 7, 10 and now 11, even on the PS2, GBA and Android phone. The last time I finished this game was on my PS4 where you get the Android version of the game, just like with the GTA:III/VC/SA.
It would be a 10/10 game if it wasn't for the occasional stutter in the PC version that has always been there for me since Windows 7, iirc the same stutter was also in the Android version for whatever reason. I also had to use a mod to fix the audio in the game on my W11 PC and use RivaTuner to limit the frame rate, as I don't need my gfx card to burn 200W in a 2001 game, spiting out 600+fps that I won't see.
EDIT: Limiting frame rate to 70Hz with driver forced 60Hz vsync seems to help a lot with the occasional stutter, but still happens from time to time. ____________________ '87 Honda XBR 500, '96 Kawasaki ZX7R P1, '90 Honda CB-1, '88 Kawasaki GPz550, MZ 150 ETZ

I played it over lockdown (CEX find) with my win98 PC for the first time. I enjoyed it for what it was. Though, I didn't notice any stutter? ____________________ CBT: 12/06/10, Theory: 22/09/10, Module 1: 09/11/10, Module 2: 19/01/11
