The advert at the bottom of this very page right now. I didn't mind the gorgeous AI models advertising underwear on Temu, but today's offering:

"For older men: stable balance shoe for everyday walking".

FFS. Is this where I'm at, now? Looking forward to incontinence aids, next.

I have "Walking shoe for elderly people with poor balance".

Jeez. I suspect the targetted ads have failed somehow and we're being offered generic demographic based ads. I mean, I know I'm 45 years old, but I'm not *that* old! Shocked

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

Let's talk about jam instead.
What do you like on toast?
I like runny poached eggs with grated cheese, and raspberry jam (but not both at the same time).

Fucking AI. If I ask them academic stuff, no worries. I get very well written stuff with citations and references, thanks very much.

But now I'm watching The Expanse. "How long could someone survive in a space suit if there's no oxygen supply?" First ChatGPT told me all about NASA space suits and the estimate was 25 hours (at rest). "No, that's not what I asked!" Cue apologies and an estimate of 2~3 hours before CO2 is a problem based on 1~1.5 cubic meters of air Thinking "Hang on, what's the average volume of a person?" Answer: 0.07 cubic meters (more depending on number of pies consumed). And then the penny dropped with ChatGPT that it done fucked up. New estimate, 6~7 minutes Rolling Eyes FFS, I'm doing all the work here!

Now consider ppl using AI and just taking the first answer that comes out. Really stupid ppl, like politicians...

Fucking people, they sometimes give me the correct answer, they sometimes tell me absolute shite ... they even attack me sometimes because I ask a question!

Well at least AI isn't doing the last one ... yet Laughing

My dog got attacked by a bull/pitbull terrier type yesterday and got badly bitten. Puncture wounds all over his head (missed his eyes thank goodness) His ear got badly punctured and elongated punctures at that thanks to the moron who owns the attacking dog trying to haul the dog off rather than loosening its jaws, plus puncture wounds in his neck one of which is a flap of skin about the size of a 50p piece.

I was so angry with the idiot owner who was frankly useless. He lives along the village from me, has absolutely no clue about how to train or control the dog. Refuses to take it to training classes because "it's too expensive" (it isn't, and he can afford alcohol and tobacco so fuck that). People have been saying it's an accident waiting to happen and it happened to my dog. He's not even phoned to apologise or ask how my dog is either. Oh and I got bitten on the wrist trying to separate them.

We were at the vets for about 3 hours while the wounds were flushed and checked most of which was waiting for the sedative to take effect. They tried to sedate him with an injection into a leg vein but be was too stressed and upset to allow that, so it had to go into muscle instead which took ages to take effect. He's had antibiotics and pain relief, plus a course of antibiotics for home along with dog co-codamol and metacam.

I did go to the police to report it today but as it was a dog that was attacked and not a person, they've referred me to the council's dog warden. I'll be speaking to him tomorrow and am going to ask for the owner and home to be assessed for fitness and an order that the dog be muzzled and on a lead in public in future. To be clear, it's the owner's fault entirely. He knows his dog is reactive to other dogs, saw me walking my dog as he was driving into his drive, waited until I'd just passed the house and then let it out of his car. No lead or harness. He'll be getting the vet bill and hopefully a fixed penalty from the warden.

Oh and I had to visit A&E to get the wound checked and some antibiotics prescribed.

I'm still furious about the whole thing.

So sorry to read what Happened to your Dog , And i hope the doggie will be oK. However you were Also Bitten so the Attacking Dog Needs to be put down No ifs or Buts , Had that been a Child or an OAP they could be dead, You need to get back to the Police and ask for Whoever is the Highest Ranking Officer in the Building to get the attacking dog put down. And before anyone jumps on Board i Love dogs and would not want any of them put down But this one has shown it cannot be trusted around any Animal or Human

If you went out hunting and instead shot someone, no one would say "that gun needs to be destroyed, it's clearly at fault!"

I do agree with this sentiment but with these pit bull type dogs once they are trained or allowed to be aggressive I'm not sure if I would ever be able to trust them again. Not least because once they lock on their prey it takes god knows what to get them to let go. It's both their nature and their physicality.

I wasn't attacked, I was bitten trying to get the dog's jaws open. It's an incidental bite rather than a deliberate attack. The dog would be fine with an owner that knows how to train and handle reactive dogs. It was the fault of the owner. Rather than having the dog put down, I'd prefer to see it go to a responsible and knowledgeable owner who would almost certainly ensure that the dog was muzzled in public spaces (including the car).

I'm honestly not angry with the dog (who's always been fine with people), just the owner. I wanted to punch him in the gob so badly. Still no contact attempt from him either. He's probably hoping it'll all go away.

It won't.

He's a bit brighter today and has eaten some dinner. I was a bit worried that having a sore mouth would affect eating but soft tray food seems to have done the job. He's still down and yelps every time he tries to shake his head which is heartbreaking.

It's back to the vets tomorrow morning to check that everything's going ok. His wounds have mostly started to coagulate, it's only the serious neck wound that hasn't but that's mainly because they flushed it out with saline and it formed a bit of a saline balloon under the skin. It's been slowly leaking out all day but that's a good thing.
