There is a 50% reduction in tax for one vehicle if you receive the lower rate of mobility allowance ... I've got a fecked heart/lungs, so walking can be very tiring Thumbs Up

Not sure if it counts, but I traded in my titanium x focus for a grandland x elite nav a few days ago as a Christmas present to myself, because no one else was going to buy me a new car

That's a cracking book and the first in a series of four Smile

If you like Dan Simmons, I can recommend "The Terror". It's a take on the failed Franklin expedition to find the North West passage woven in with Inuit myth and folklore.

I had the previous model Grandland. Quite a nice drive, nippy enough for me to attract a speeding ticket.
I'm sure I don't have to make you aware of the wet belt issues.
I now have a 2024 hybrid model which is noticeably different in terms of just about everything. Glad they replaced the wet belt with a chain.

Have never read any Dan Simmons before though.

Kind of brought back memories of sitting on a frost covered riverbank with my dad and brothers in the early 70s catching bugger all with a piece of glowing charcoal in my pocket.

Philips SHP9500 headphones.

I'm a sucker for open-back headphones but I'm not shelling out a gazillion europoundollars on Sennheisers just yet so I'm always looking for a bargain Smile My previous bargain bins, AKG K245, are great... for the money but one of the speakers has started to pop.

These Philips headphones are way out of production and are just at the crossover point between of rock-bottom, "shift this shit" and fanbois driving up the price. Currently on ebay for £40~£50, Amazon more like a ton Shocked Anyhoo, audibly they might be 10% better than the AKGs but they're way more comfortable! Not studio grade obviously but a bargain if you care about fidelity with your music.

What I especially like is a detachable lead. I've had headphones in the past with a moulded lead that's perished way before the active parts!
