Yes, my pug went from 0 to £20, It's not a huge hike but when you consider the amount of cars on the road I'm sure its a good few million for Rachael from accounts.

Yep. I've already anticipated that one, we have alternative walking routes so once I can get a collar or harness on him and take him for a walk, we'll go on those routes first just to ease him in before I even try to see if he'll walk past the place he was attacked.

We'll have to agree to disagree on that one. The owner has been seen out with the dog but with a major change, it's now muzzled in public. I intend to make sure that continues to happen.

The local dog warden has been informed and is pursuing the matter too. It may end up being removed and rehomed with someone more capable but we'll see.

But it doesn't sound like Islander's dog has done anything wrong? I don't have a dog and never have done, but to me it seems like it's all the other owner, and your post implies it's Islander's dog at least partially at fault.


He's talking about the dog that attacked mine, not my dog Thumbs Up

He's on the mend thankfully. I think it'll still be a week or so until we can put a harness or collar on him but he's getting there. We've got to take him back to be assessed next Monday but the wounds are clotted over for the most part, the one on his neck is a bit slower to start the healing process but to be fair, the vet did warn us that the pocket of saline they'd flushed it with would need to drain out before it could start to dry and heal and that finally looks as if it's happening.

In the meantime he's getting plenty of attention and treats Smile

its a roundabout, of course you are allowed to go around it, thats the whole reason for its existence.
i have had to stop on a mini roundabouts before because cars approaching havent slowed down.

We have one at the end of our road. TBH I wish it was a T junction instead as so many people don't seem to know to treat it as a roundabaout, giving way to the left. Especially the wanker taxi drivers we have in MK.

As ever... insurance Evil or Very Mad

It's that time of year for stress so I offered to sort out my daughter's car insurance to save her worrying about it. Ended up taking the best part of a day! Chat windows, conversations, quotes that fell through. Finally I managed to get a good price via the Martin Lewis website and when I hit the final pay window the price suddenly shot up by £70 Thinking

Kept me busy for an hour figuring out what went wrong. In the end I did it all again in Edge browser (which I never normally use) and it was fine so some weird cookie or compatibility problem. I do have a lot of security on my main browser but you'd think things would break entirely not just get more expensive!

Hyperbole aside, it appears that parts of Englandshire did take a bit of a battering, hence the RED Met Office warning meaning danger to life. They don't use that one often.

Closing schools is standard practice when transport routes become compromised. It's sensible. There are always the usual "eeeee when I were a lad we walked 50 miles through blizzards and 20 foot of snow and never complained about the loss of toes and fingers to frostbite" types droning on, but these things are treated more sensibly now. Same goes for businesses and services. If you can work remotely, you certainly should.

Editors are always looking to add a bit of sensationalisation to news stories. The proprietors expect it.

Agreed 'weather bomb' in particular is absurd. albeit here in 'Brussel County' we didn't get much apart from some rain.

I watched Cliff Mitchgelmore on BBC archive assessing the Winter of Jan 1963 - that was proper cold and snowy for over a month - no mention of 'bombs' though.
