Again, mostly guesswork and looking at pictures but it looks like there is a countersunk recess on the inside face of the clutch lifter plate (17) which I'm guessing is where that o-ring goes. I'd imagine the clutch screw (11) goes down through the middle of all the clutch lifter parts and protrudes slightly with the o-ring over the end of it.
See if that all fits. It's where it's shown on the exploded diagram so if it fits neatly in the recess on the clutch lifter plate and over the plain end of the clutch screw, I'd say it's a shoe-in. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. I did the 2010 Round Britain Rally on my 350 Bullet. 89 landmarks, 3 months, 9,500 miles. |

will certainlt try, many thanks |
Hello,
Tried it, no go, justdoes not fit anywhere, i am truly puzzled now.
yes, there is a countersunk recess on the clutch lifter plate, this is where, what is known as the clutch pin, these were fitted to later models sits as in photo
I am temted to forget it and just assemble it and see what happens
Trouble is, there is no informative info out there apart from people like yourself trying to help
I did contact honda but they were no help at all, i explained i was restoring the bike, i thought hey would have been glad to help
I might out of interest contact Japan, see what they say
Thank you |

I think its function is to stop oil creeping along the threads between the clutch lifter plate and the clutch screw and finding its way to the outside of the bike along that screw. Pic below of the recess in the lifter plate I'd guess it goes in.
If you don't have one, it can't happen and you don't need it. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. That's when you find out everything you want to know.”
