I'd love to get away for few days late spring, and I'm thinking of looking at France. Not too keen to do mega-miles so wondering if anyone has any suggestions, thoughts, experiences.

A mix of quiet, scenic and reasonably twisty roads with some interesting places to visit and decent food to eat.

5-6 days - probably can't spare any more time.

Merci. Smile

It's pretty nice towards German border Metz, Nancy Dijon area a lot of forest areas and twisty roads, back in the days of paper maps the michelin ones had green tourist routes were always a good start point.
Alternatively channel coast Normandy and Brittany are always popular with brits.
You could get to the Alps in two days easily but it would feel rushed if you had to get back in about a week.
Also some of the passes aren't open until well into May.

It will probably be wet, windy and miserable - wrap up accordingly.

For that duration, I'd probably head for the Ardennes region - lovely area, varied roads (eg mountains/open flowing roads/forests)
