So I think I'm in the right place for this...
I've reached a special birthday this year (somewhere between 40 and 60), and promised my daughter if I reached this age without a tattoo I'd definitely get one.
I'm now booked into a place on Saturday, but still not 100% sure on the design. I've met the tattooist and he seems a great guy and has a really good reputation - but his designs aren't really rocking my boat.
It's going to be down the side of my calf, and TBH since it's bike related I'm quite happy dealing with whatever I end up with.
But I thought I'd ask the great BCF group what your opinions are (oh god, here goes...).
Tat 1 is my own design that I like the most, I'd ask that the chain pieces be made bigger and less of them to maybe make them more bike like.
Tat 2 & 3 are his designs, but I'm not so keen on those.
What ya reckon? ____________________ Previous: Aprilia Habana Retro 50cc (beauty), Yamaha SR125 (fell apart), Honda XR125 (nippy little commuter), Honda SLR650 (Geewhizz), Yamaha Diversion 900S (Smoooooth) written off courtesy of a stupid escaped horse.
(7 year gap), BMW F650 (Relaxing ride). Aprilia Caponord ETV1000 (Big and bold). Yamaha FZS600 (got me in trouble too quick!).
Current: Yamaha TDM 900 (Comfy, light but big, power when needed). |

Apropos of nothing, that reminded me of C&B Mann behind the post office on Kings Norton Green (NOT Chas Mann). Which in turn reminded me of R&G Spares on the Stratford road. While I'm guessing Pete is still in Kings Norton, Roy and Gary will be long gone by now. A shame as it was one of the last proper bike breakers I knew of. If you could get permission to go upstairs and browse the racking it was an absolute treasure trove
There used to be the odd little breakers on the canal bridge in Selly Oak as well, by the cafe (Porkies was the cafe, I think?). That closed not long after I got into the midlands though. Also a shame, they were always helpful and had some good advice for opening a seized brake master cylinder on my old GPz turbo. ____________________ I'm immortal. Well, so far. |
