Folks I can confirm that a two man canvas reinactor's tent, which is basically a ridge tent without a floor or a zipper, WILL fit into a 20kg washing machine like those ones you see outside supermarkets and stuff these days.

I’ve never heard of that. There was nothing outside Waitrose.

You probably mean a reenactors tent. Wink

Waitrose is excellent for keeping the poor people away from FM and Harrods.

I tried to join the civil war reenactment society as a roundhead but they rejected me. They said I had a cavalier attitude.

I had the impression that launderettes have mostly disappeared so I wonder who is going to take their laundry to Morrisons on the off-chance that the machine will be ready when they get there, and finished when they come out. People with big stuff like tents or horse blankets, perhaps? Interesting business idea though.

When I worked in Canary Wharf I would sometimes stop for petrol at a Texaco filling station that had washing machines. Never seen that anywhere else.

Streetview shows them in 2022, but no idea if they're still there today.

Only 18kg though so I never took a tent Smile

They started to show up around here in the North of England a couple of years ago from what I remember. You can find info about where they are near you by looking up "wash.me" on tinternet. Useful for big things or filthy muddy stuff. They got giant dryers too. A bit pricey but it did what I needed doing when my canvas tent was all muddy and growing mould after being up for months in the great British weather.
