Has Ian McShane had surgery?
He looks pretty good for 80-something.
I bet he doesn't look like that first thing in the morning |
I feel the same attraction but apart from his early morning crinkliness, imagine the old man smell. Euw. Although apparently the antidote to old person smell (not including wee) is persimmon soap.

The Monument Men set in WW2 with a bunch of chaps led by George Clooney who are charged with rescuing precious artworks from ze Germans. It was okay, enough to hold my attention. 6/10 but only because Hugh Bonneville.
Followed by something called Greed (I think) with Steve Coogan about a billionaire fashion cretin. I could see the ending coming a mile off but I watched it anyway. Never have understood the fascination with Steve Coogan, and I still dunno why people rate him - never did like that DJ fellow either - although it was entertaining to see David Mitchell play the same character as he plays in Would I lie to you?. The man has less range than Sean Connery. ____________________ Not nearly as interesting in real life. |

Conversely, I now prefer Part 2 over the original.
ALTHOUGH the original was my all-time favourite movie for years, I can recite parts of it word for word and use many of the phrases in everyday life
I like how part 2 develops Frankie Pentangeli, brings in the Cuban situation, and also the fate of Fredo. John Cazale was a brilliant actor, such a loss at an early age.
Part 3 is not so great but I do like it nonetheless as I like the development of the sister (Constanza) in part 3, she's turned into quite the hardened little nut by then. ____________________ Not nearly as interesting in real life. |

This week I went to see a movie at the cinema, just cos I like to go sometimes and sit right up the front, immersion therapy
I went to see Bad Apples, the only person I knew of in it was Saoirse Ronan.
It's about a teacher (Soairse) who has to deal with a really disruptive boy in her class (I think the kids are aged about 12/13) , and the measures she takes are, well, unusual to say the least.
Everything gets interestingly entangled, of course, and despite thinking "How the FUCK are you gonna get out of that ...?", I did find myself laughing once or twice out loud.
By the end of the film I was surprised to find that I no longer liked ANY of the characters, doesn't often happen.
I'd give it a 7. Probably.
Side note: there was a preview for an upcoming film called WICKER with Olivia Coleman and Peter Dinklage, and that looks really interesting. ____________________ Not nearly as interesting in real life. |
