6 points within the two year probation period = licence revoked = back to Provisonal Licence and you have to retake ALL tests again (CBT & theory & practical). If you get a ban on top of this, you have to wait for ban to end before you can re-take tests.

If you have held a full car licence for 2 years. This will not then apply.

I think he means, can you still gain 6 points, or do you need over 6 points i.e 7 before you actually lose it...?

This is something I'm not clear on either.

This should make it more clear......

New Drivers Act
This affects you if you first passed your driving test on or after 1 June, 1997.

If you reach six or more penalty points within two years of passing your driving test (ie during the probationary period), the Driver Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) will automatically revoke your driving licence when notified by a court or fixed penalty office.

To regain your full licence you must then:
obtain a provisional licence
drive as a learner
pass the theory and practical test again

Penalty points counting towards the total of six include any you incurred before passing the test, as long as the offence took place not more than three years before the latest penalty point offence.

Points imposed after the probationary period will also count if the offence was committed during that period. Passing the retest does not remove penalty points from your licence, and if the total reaches 12, you are liable to be disqualified by a court.

I know on first hand experience that you can only get 5 points and keep your licence, if you get 6 then say good bye to your freedom.

REALLY? Shocked Very Happy

Praying

This would be very helpful for me, as I've got 3 points but can't seem to stay withing certain limits. Wink (I've not had my bike licence for the full 2 years yet, car licence for over 2 years).

Dont quote me on this but i think that as you haven't had your bike licence for 2 years, if you get another 3 i think you can still lose your bike entitlement.

Please tell me if im wrong
