My dad stopped biking just after I was born. About a year ago he went and bought himself a Kawasaki GPZ550. I wasn't too keen on him getting it at first (thinking another BAB to add to the stats). He let me have a go on it in a car park one day.

A couple of weeks later I booked myself on a DAS course.

My dad had a couple of bikes over the years (he had a sidecar once too) but my earliest bike-related memory is bein taken to watch the speedway racing at Cleveland Park in Middlesbrough in the early 1980's - that's what sparked a love of bikes in me Thumbs Up

I was staying down in the New Forest and I needed something to get around on, so my uncle sudgested a motorbike, gave it some though and then went and did my CBT. Just done my direct access and passed so I have a nice CBR to play with when I get the damn tax sorted.

There is only one member of my family that owns a bike, me!

My parents loathe bikes with a passion, so I get bigger bikes to get back at them, each moan or whinge increases a cc on my next bike, should be near 1000 by now Wink.

My dad had various bikes, including a 650cc sidecar outfit, a Lambretta, a BSA Bantam, and the CB250RS I inherited in my profile. He also had a Heinkel bubble car, not unlike this one :-

Mine had a vespa in the 70's Laughing

He never encouraged me. I had a go on an AR125 and decided it would be a good idea to get a bike.

My Mum and Dad both rode bikes when I was younger and I always used to jump at the chance to go pillion. When I got to 17 I managed to persuade my Mum to swap her old bike for a DT 125 for me and then I did my CBT and I was hooked.

I'm still waiting for my parents to get bikes so that we can go for rides together like they promised all those years ago Smile.

My Dad had BSA's and Vincent's when he was a kid and regularly used to go scrambling (we're talking 1950's here!). I can regularly remember going pillion with him on something like this...

https://dutchman.org.uk/Honda_CB250N_Superdream.jpg

Honda 250N Superdream I can recall thinking it was bloody quick when I was 10 years old and wrapping my hands around his waist in a desperate attempt to hang on although it was probably 40mph max Smile

The years have gone by and he's now gone old skool and potters about on one of these when the weather's nice...

Royal Enfield Bullet sixty - 5

Got so much respect for the bloke - I'd love to think that I was still riding as well as he is when I reach retirement age and beyond Thumbs Up

My Mam had a C90 when I was a kid.
She now has a GPZ500. Thumbs Up
My Dad has only ever ridden a scooter on holiday, won't even get on the back of me or my mam. He likes his cars and doesn't like not being in control. Laughing

I have a mate who owns a farm and had a 250 4t old beast.

Had a go when i was 14. Never looked back since.

I love anything to do with adrenaline and speed.

Owned 5 vehicles so far and i'm only 19! (none wrote off/crashed).

Can't get enough of riding / driving.
