De-Restricting Question

I own a Honda NSR125 '01 Model. Very Happy

I was just wondering if i was to derestrict the Intake but not the exhaust, how would this effect the performance?? and would it damage the bike at all?? Confused

(i am just asking as i feel comftable taking out the intake restrictor but not the exhaust one)

no risk but not a strong effect on your performance . pass me your serial number and i will guide you to derestrict it .

You will find that most 2T's are restricted mainly through the exhaust

You can of course remove just the airbox restriction, but this won't give full power. It's a job that needs doing and might provide a small power increase.

So do it!
Worst thing that will happen is that it does nothing.

just a thing to add . clean your carb at the same time and look about your jetting . the best adjustment is : main 138 slow 42 power 65 . if you need jets ask mattew https://www.dellorto.co.uk

I did my intake first for about two weeks. Economy goes to absolute S**T and it makes no diff. It isnt too good for the bike aswell as uve got the full mixture comin out into a small opening... Once i took out the exhaust restriction the magic happened and my fuel economy came back although not as good as restricted. It makes no difference so maybe try takin out the exhaust first!

yh i have tried to get the exhaust off, but i have bolt that won't move for sh*t, it is screwed on TIGHT. so at the moment i'm going no-where. Crying or Very sad

And how does it effect the fuel economy? does it make it alot less? Confused

very slightly , a bit more if you upjet (may be 1/2 L by full tank)
