I personally can't recommend anything for the NSR but I have found a site with a brief section about tuning an NSR125.

It would be advisable to search the BCF forums
too. There are quite a lot of previous and current NSR owners here; you should get some decent information.

A few random NSR125 links:

An Arrow exhaust system is a must on an NSR. De-restrict obviously, maybe a bigger carb, sports air filter etc. But the exhaust does make quite a difference, improves the powerband quite a bit and also adds a couple of bhp.

There is one thing though, this tends to a bit expensive, very expensive.

Are you sure about that, a couple of bhp would be nearing a 10% power increase which is very optomistic for changing the exhaust on a 125 two stroke.

Rather than spending money on an exhaust, de-restrict the standard one, it'll perform the same (well fractionally worse than a race can but not a noticeable difference) and you'll have lots of money to spend on something useful like petrol.

Another boring suggestion, you'll find doing training and your test which will mean having a full license, far more useful than any extras you can get and fit to an NSR. Motorways, pillions, no L plates and getting your 33bhp clock ticking are all very useful and will have lots more real life benefits than any mods you could do to your NSR.

Boring answers. Razz

Ste look what you done now. He has a perfectly good NSR 2 stroke, and you go tell him to take his test. Personally I would keep the NSR for a while because I like 2 strokes and NSR's can be pretty nippy bikes.

I didn't tell him to get rid of his NSR, I simply said that a full license is very useful. You don't have to sell your 125 upon passing your test. Smile

125's are not worth tuning because you can get a big bike for the same kind of money.

Unless you're fanatical about 125's and have money for rebuilds etc. Spend it on training and a test and quality kit. Which is pretty much what Ste said. Laughing
