Insurance qoutes

Just been ringing around for qoutes on my insurance and gettting some depressing feedback (which was expected) but also a some annoyance also.

On my little green slip it says TT99 which is a code for a totting up ban I also have one claim for £500.

I go through all my details with them and get to the TT99 and they say what happened to get the ban, I actually don't remember fully so ring the DVLA to ask if they have my records. They tell me that my record is wiped clean and that the insurance companies MUST accept the TT99 and I dont have to tell them anything.

When I tell them this they say I wont get a qoute without telling them so I gave brief explanation to two companies of how I came about my ban and they couldnt give me a qoute.

So my questions are:
Does anyone where I stand on this and what can I say to insurance companies if they bring up what I told another company.


I did manage to get one qoute on the NC30 whith the few that I have rung so far. £935 for TPO so alls not too bad.

Doesn't your licence have the penalties that were put on to add up to the TT99 ? They must have been added along the line at some point.

What parts of it do you remember ? was it over the 12 point mark ?

Was over 18 months ago, and I did have them on my license at one point but I still dont remember what they were exactly

If it's bee completely wiped, it is possible to just lie through your teeth and say you had four SP30's? (35mph in a 30 or whatever).

hmmm, yeah true. I could do that but theirs still the small matter of me telling another insurance companie something else but does any one know if a insurance companie find out if it is false information?

Well my car insurance comp brought up a non fault accidnet on my bike in 2001 and tried to cancle my car ins!!!

Got my insurance down to £450 tpft with 60 day ban (sp30), 3 points (ts10) and a £600 claim, this is on a 2001 hornet 600 at 19 with 2 years NCB.

Ring around, some companies were quoting me over 1k rofl, cia worked out the best as usual 0870 444 2 777.


Car insurance so far is a bigger tho, £1600 tpo on a 1.6 astra is cheapest so far
