I had a funny situation today when a punto GT thing came revving up along side me so I nailed it just to give him the idea but he persisted to nail it past me. Something came over me and I went after him, revs high around some corners and nailing only I can't get past him due to some traffic brakes hard on etc I then stop and I am shaking!

I think I have just totally dis-respected the bike and thats how ppl get killed by taking stupid chances, it's the first time I have been daft on it and it's really made me think about the way you treat these things.
It's a different thing when you are consentrating and riding hard to just being all out stupid.
The stupidest thing is I knew that the bike is 10 times faster than the car so I did'nt really need to prove a thing.

Do some trackdays Thumbs Up ; you can really explore yours and your bike's limits in a much safer situation.

Also a whole load more fun than on the road.

Yeah it is easy to get caught out like that! this morning was the first time i had ridden my bike in 4 days, i was only going to work but in those ten minutes i rode like a T%&T. when i got to work i thought that was a stupid way to ride.
The main thing is that you got away with it and you know that you where riding like a fool, hopefully you will catch yourself before you do it again!

yeah it's when you don't have time to look down and then realise you are top end of third (over 100 MPH) and you going around a corner etc.
I have riden fast a fair few times but with full concentration and control.
This time my heart was thumping so hard and I was shaking.
Yeah don't think I will be that daft again specially when there is no point. I'd like to do a track day when you can just ease into it to find you limits etc.

Red mist swings it's ugly gauntlet again, and misses! Sounds like you have learnt the lesson the easy way, just don't forget!

We all do stupid things sometimes, it's all part of the learning process. Greater control comes with time.

You don't need to pass him to show him how shit his car is anyway, it's a Punto!

Yeh you take it easy Paul! I'm sure we have all done similar things, sometimes I've got in and though jeez I don't know how i made it home in one peice! its funny how the slightest thing can happen and really shits you up, then when you think about it later it and it makes you feel physically sick. But hey sometimes we need reminding to respect the bike and not try to test our luck too much!.

We've all done it, but top end of third for me is only about 60mph.

This, ladies and gentlemen of the jury is why we have the 33bhp limit.

Not so sure you can disrespect the power of a 125 Runner. I like to give these twats a little gay wave when I filter past them at the lights, which is inevitable on my route. I sort of look forward to it.

I know what you mean i cant take car drivers trying it although i know that the bike is so much faster i still have to leave them for dust.

Do some track days then you will be more confident at higher speeds and you will have a chance to push you and your bike to your limits.

Very Happy

I get the gauntlet thrown down all the time from any ponce in a car (and bikes too for that matter) who thinks he's fast.

The last time i really let a supposed fast car have it was when i was on my old FZ750, on the A44 heading toward Worcester. He cut me and my friend (she was on a little GP100 and plodding along slowly, with me chugging along behind her) up badly in his Porsche, givving it revs. So i passed him, full pelt and rode like a man possessed. I lost the hero stick blob things on the pegs and covered ground in a time that would have made Barry Sheene proud. I eventually pulled into a layby in order to let my friend catch up. It took Porsche man about five or six minues to catch up, him giving it the berries as much as he could, and a good twenty for 'Chelle to catch up on the GP.

Nowadays i stay chilled and turn the other cheek, its not worth the chain and tyre wear lol.

I'll assume you meant MPH..

I can do 40mph in first, but I can't tell if it's me screaming or the bike.

And my 33bhp restriction will be gone soon. But it has saved me a few times. Since I'm on a 600, restricted and derestricted are very different things.

If I grab too much of a handfull next week, I might end up on my arse, whereas last week, the 33bhp would have just had me accelerating hard.

i was tootling along the a road to work on wednesday morning, there was a tanker in front so i was going to wait until the road was clear way up ahead.

had just overtaken my girlfriend, looked in my right mirror and there is a chunky subaru thing right up my arse.. next thing he overtakes me and the tanker and just misses a car coming the other way.

right i thought ill chase after him .. waited for a another car to pass and then overtook the tanker.. nailed it down the a road towards my favourite twisties

had suburu man firmly in my sights as i approached the first nice right hander at 80.. i was gaining slighty at this point even though he had a big headstart.. time to see who had the biggest balls when it comes down to it thought i

stayed at 80 into the left hander then came to the s bends which i normaly follow but today i went straight down the middle.. bad i know but there was no traffic coming and i was on a mission

came to the second to last bend and i was counter steering like a champ and even hanging off a bit and infront of me was the intended victim followed by two cars.. payback time

coming round the last bend before the lights i had a clear view ahead i waited until the broken line on my side of the road indicated waited a couple of seconds and then overtook the subaru.. just as i was level with his bonnet he tried to overtake the first car

looked down my nose at him and shook my head and carried on to the lights in the right hand lane and slowed as they changed to red..

nobby in the subaru wrx.. e.t.c e.t.c

decided to leave his lane and pull up behind me..

now for the best part of my victory

i made him think i was going straight on and was only in this lane to pass the cars on the left that he failed to overtake.. i kept looking at the driver in the car on the left and then at the lights

as soon as the lights changed to amber i sat there revving the bike for a a couple of seconds as the cars on the left started pulling away and subura man is sat there going nowhere

then i indicated turned right and burned off as fast as my 33bhp bike can go lol. looked in the mirror and see the subaru just going past the junction

perfect timing.. and mission complete

sometimes you just have to show the cagers how its done Thumbs Up

A subaru impreza would absolutely wallop a restricted bike.

They're suprisingly quick, and 4WD.

Ive yet to find anything on the road to better my last few bikes.

My mates impredza WRC couldnt beat my old GT550 up to 60 much to his chagrin lol

I always got the same startled look from Mr 'Fast' Car man when they tried to bate me into a race on the motorway, especially when i was on my good ol king of roll-on FJ1200, theyd come along side wave, roll on then look startled as i just wound the throttle open (in top) and sailed past them. Id then pull into the slow lane, slow to the limit, then roll back on as they tried to pass, never tired of that one.

I had some pillock try to *race* my ZRX11 away from lights last night, 3 times.... & he was in a fucking Toyota pickup Rolling Eyes
The first 2 times I just play along & stay about 20ft behind & one lane over as he did his (abysmal) best, both times we got up to about 75mph....
Third light was time for the lesson in humiliation to begin.... Stayed with him up to about 70mph & then I just fucking nailed it up to about 130 or so. I hit the brakes just before the bridge over the local RR tracks as he went blasting over...... & this is where he got his second lesson of the evening.... I'd been along there about 20 minutes earlier & I knew about the speed trap just over the bridge, he only found about about it when he shot past the cops at 90+ in a 50.... I waved Middle Finger as I passed him LMFAO!!

Thats how pointless accidents happen. Not worth it.. when it could take your biking career away forever, or take someones life..
