Yeah, another topic about my VFR.

Just to remind some of you, i was getting flat spots on the VFR and general grogginess from the thing.
I performed my own little service not so long back, oil change, spark plug gaps fixed and cleaned (ready for new ones), cleaned air filter (need a replacement small filter, not sure what it is called its next to the big one).
I have had the thing in Honda now and the carbs were cleaned, need some O-rings and a full set of plugs.

I have been riding around now for almost week and the flat spots of power have gone, but I seem to have the occasional problem that’s feels like a fuel problem, at low revs and a lot of throttle it doesn’t like it, for example pulling away from lights you have to give it some or else it will seem slow.
The fuel lines and tap have been checked, and like I said the carbs were cleaned and re-balanced.
The warranty on the work wont last forever but can I really say it’s their fault?

Thanks Thumbs Up

Maybe your back and/or front brakes are jamming on and so they required to be thoroughly cleaned with brake cleaner and smear some brake fluid on the pistons to stop them from sticking!

My friend just yesterday discovered that his back brake was sticking and had to rev his bike's engine higher to get it to move from a stand still and that's why I suggested checking your brakes out.

Once cleaned he no longer had to rev it high to move off !

Otherwise take the bike to that mechanic and explain to him that you've got a problem with the bike since getting it back and so it's still under your guarantee and so will you check it to rectify it?

Sounds like an air flow problem. Check the couplings from the carb intakes to the air box. If you have that kind of setup. Im thinking back to my nsr which came back from a service and stuttered through the rev range. They had just whiped it out and shoved it back in not taking care to "marry" the seal up porperly.
New airfilter maybe.....clean the old one........Sounds more air than fuel!

Thumbs Up

i think the vfr has a problem with the fuel tank breather which may cause a similar problem

Ensure the airbox is fitted correctly and hasnt started to crack or fall apart, furnish with a new airfilter.

Check the mixture settings on the carbs are correct, inspect the emulsion tubes for ovalling, the carbs diphragms for splits and the needles for wear. Also check the float levels, and that the float needles are sealing.

I had the same problem on my FZ750-the airbox was coming apart and incorrectly fitted. 20 minutes with silicone sealer, and creative use of car window trim to seal it all back up again soon got the carburetion spot on again.
