I lost my instructor when i was doing my training for my full test, cool thing was i lost him right outside the Heine Gerike and Infinity shops (people who know peterborough will know where i mean), and the lady from Inifinity came out, offered me a cup of tea, gave me the shop phone to call the center, (who told me to meet my instructor at the cafe down the road, where he had pulled in and was having breakfast ), and even gave me an escort to the cafe so i didnt get lost! I got knocked off by the other dude at a junction on the road.
I also went through a horrible phase of not wanting to use the brakes at all, thinking that pulling in the clutch would stop me. Having the coordination to use the back brake would have been too much, so I slid to a halt purely using my feet, nearly hit an onlooker, missed the instructors bike by about a foot, and almost ran into the wall numerous times.
About average from the sounds of it. ____________________ I must not be a troll...

Decided to do a bit of 'green laning' via a holly bush...
Apparantly it was the sheer comic value that made me psaas my CBT. ____________________ Like a Yorkie - I'm not for the girls |

Not really funny but I thought it might be good to test out the centre's scooter for top speed. All I heard was "speed up a bit more" but in my case that means crank open the throttle all the way, which I did and got an indicated 55, in a 40 zone. Still passed me though, saying that I was quite 'throttle happy'.
lol, just remembered, I also scraped a kerb, thinking a bus was going to pull out in front of me, I pulled close to the kerb and ended up scraping it, but the Instructor was way ahead. ____________________ Honda MBX50 | Yamaha RD125LC | Suzuki RG125F Lucky Strike | Suzuki GSF600S

On the day of my test we were going through the center of derby and i missed a direction due to the radio and want the way i usually go (one way system too) so in a fluster turn off and turn the bike arround (uturn) only to drop the Brand spanking new ER5 (which that very day had crash bars fitted) got the bike up, got on, restarted and low and behold the instructor just get arorund the corner
And they never knew mwahahaha
(passed first go an hour later hurrah) ____________________ >RidingSkills<->Tech Tips<->MyBikes< |

I did my CBT on my de-restricted DNA50 so I kept being told to slow down (averaging 40 in 30 zones) and got 55 on the dual carriageway.
Problem was that the other guy was on a rented Piagio Zip which wouldn't do more than 30 so we lost him
Had to wait around 5 min before he caught up looking petrified!!
Still I passed 1st time.

Where to begin.....
*Use the clutch as an on/off lever
*use the front brake as an on/off lever
*stamp on the rear brake to stop
*stand up every time you stop
*Try to get your knee down at the pulse poundingly fast speed of 25mph on an SR125
*somehow make the tyres screech on a yamaha SR125
*for slow control, ride at 15mph and maintain that you can't go any slower
*hit all of the cones on your slow control assessment
*screw up the clutch, and crash into the back of your instructor's CB500, trying to ride through a junction when you should be stopping at it.
And you'll have done what I did, over the course of four CBT's ____________________ https://www.bikepics.com/members/nsrandy/96rs250/ My Bike!

I was bringing up the rear on an SR with the instructor in front of me.
Going down a narrow street everyone stopped to let a car past, instructor had stopped just past a speed bump which I was too scared to brake over so I waited untill I got over it before I slammed on the anchors.....The stopping power wasn't as good as I expected.
Cue me shunting into back of instructors bike and without him even turning round all I heard over the radio was ".......Cunt". ____________________ [M] |

Mine was a bluddy nightmare.
It was hot, I was inexperienced and had left the thermal lining in my jacket as I did slow playground stuff...needless to say..I stunk and was soaking
It took me 2 hours to pull away without stalling, (discovered after all that time I had my foot rammed on the rear brake instead of footpeg all that time
I felt physically sick due to the heat.
A guy pulled out on me on the road.
I stalled at every single set of traffic lights (about 20 sets) in the first hour on-road.
I wheelied quite high at one set as I dropped clutch and revved as I just had to pull away without stalling !!
Idiot.
My instructor pis*ed himself laughing.
I contemplated death and nearly cried.
In the end he passed me...just....
I got much better after that and passed my test first time.

went through my cbt no problem,
did scrape the kick start box on a kerb once when pulling over, and the usual " SLOW DOWN" as my speedo wasnt working (rented speedshite)
There was one woman who turned up with her husband on a fizzy with no helmet on, she road it 2 mile to get to the center, she hit all the cones, never had her feet on the pegs and on the emergancy stop she "forgot" to break and hit the instructor at about 15 mph.... she was sent home as i was sat there sniggering like a girl at this fat lump falling off
passed with no complaints, just to watch my speed. "of course i wont speed"
