I think the choice of bike should be determined by the type of off road riding you'll be doing mostly. If it will mostly be track riding then I would recommend a motocross. For the place in the photos a 125 motocross would be fine as it doesn't seem like you need a great deal of power as I can't see any hills or high jumps. A 125 motocross would be a good choice there as it is lighter and easier to handle. That would also depend on your size and weight of course. If you decide to go for a 250, it would be worth test riding it first as Yams said. They are quite a bit different to other bikes.
But if you would like something more versatile for green laning, general field type use and track riding then I think you should look for an enduro type bike. These would be a bit more practical for road use as well.
It's good to see more people joining the off-roaders!! ____________________ It hurts doesn't it? Your hopes dashed, your dreams down the toilet. And your fate is sitting right besides you. |

I Had a Very capable Cagiva WMX 250 around 6 months ago had to build it up (getting a piston was a bit of bother but got one) had the frame blasted and coated, new plastics etc. Was great fun but never had time to get a trailer and take it somewhere decent, so i sold it to an owner who didnt understand the words 'Run it in' he brought it back, i fixed it and no problems since (apparently....but hes probably sold it!!! ) |
