 |
|
Ok, so it's now 0825 on the day of my test. At about 9.15 last night, I got all my stuff together that i needed for my test - Counterpart, CBT Cert., Theory Test Cert. and the appointment letter. Bugger, where's my photocard gone? Searched high and low and even called every single place i've been over the weekend (At 9.15 at night, you can guess they were all pubs ). Ok, so i must've left it in the office on friday. I hope i left it in the office on friday. Not much i can do about it at 10pm at night though is there.
Roll on this morning, my alarm goes off at 7.10 - hit the snooze button for that vital extra 10 mins . halfway through that, mum shouts up, "you'd better get up, the dogs have gotten out!"
"How?"
"The gate's open!", then the old man shouts through "is his bike still there"
I get up to have a look - pissshitfuckbollocks! Bike's gone.
That was not what i needed 9 hours before my test. I've been out and had a look in all the chav hangouts, through the council estate etc. Then I remembered, someone started making "funny" comments while I was putting my bike away a while ago. Fortunatly i know where the little scroat lives, so i went and had a look round his area with no joy. then did a little tresspassing of my own and took a peek in his back garden and his shed but still no joy. Police station isn't "open" yet.
If you didn't guess by the title of the post, it's not a happy ending as yet. I'll let you know though. |

That’s shite mate, I hate that feeling……. Gate swinging, bike not there.
When I get my TS125 back me and a mate are thinking about setting up some chavs, we leave it in the area we know they will be. When they come and have a look, beat them with our baseball bats.
Apparently the cops said to my mate, who had his bike vandalised in an area close to where my DTR was nicked, that they deserve more than a warning, hinting that if we do the deed, they’ll say no more.
Cops have gain a few points with me on that one.
I can’t wait, I’ll try and get a video on my phone. ____________________ Cleverly disguised as a responsible adult.

Not a good idea mate. You'll land yourself in hot water.

Nothing can replace my DTR, the feeling of compressed wood hurled at a chavys head with a unmistakable ‘whunk’ sound is just what I need for the grief.
I am doing it, I’ll let you know the concequences.
Oh and they are not going to know it is me either, there would be a risk of them vandalising more stuff. ____________________ Cleverly disguised as a responsible adult.

I see your point about not being happy to find someone in your garage. Although i'd like to point out that the one and only house i did that to is one that is reputed for dodgy cars and drugs, with sub-human people occupying it.
Anyway, i went to a local training school (Shires Motorcycle Training in Leicester) and told them what had happened. the bossman sympathised and said he unfortunatly knew the feeling and agreed to hire a bike to me for the day and overnight until 9am tomorrow morning for £30 and said to fill up before my test and give him the receipt, which i thought was extremely reasonable. He then got in touch with the test centre direct and explained what had happened and then phoned DVLA to get a certificate faxed over. So things are on the up and IF i pass i'll only have to wait till saturday to get mobile again because i have a deposit down on a V reg yamaha XJR400 with 2500 miles on the clock |

Passed my test . I've gone from thinking about doing it to having passed it all in 19 days . Booked my theory test on the 6th of April and when i passed i had two lessons and then decided to book the earliest test i could and did that today (with the setbacks i explained earlier) and passed! I'm well chuffed and a big to Shires who were reasonable about lending me a bike for the day even though i didn't book through them and didn't charge me anywhere near what they should for a full days' hire.
It's also given me the incentive to get a Datatool system 3 fitted, Datatag, and an Oxford Boss anchor and chain. Plus i'm getting an alarm for the garage and doing a load of stuff to make it harder for them to get in.
I thought before that it was a bit extreme doing all the security stuff to the bike and garage as the bike was only worth under a grand but now i reckon that the feeling of it being nicked on top of getting my soon-to-be winter hack nicked is enough incentive to have done it from the very start.
Thanks for all the positive comments and sympathy, it is well appreciated.

Congratulations on the pass - you certainly deserved the good news after the bad luck you've had.
Get cracking with installing as much security as possible, no matter what the value of the bike it's always inconvenient and upsetting when one is stolen. ____________________ Avast! Pirates ahoy!

once again guys thanks for the support!
Got a call from the police today. They found my bike on the local park and said "it has endured some fire damage so we'll need you to identify it for us". So i went down and found this....
AND they wanted to charge me to recover it to MY HOUSE!!! never mind though hey. it's all sorted now and didn't part with a penny to get my burnt pile of shite back! |
