Getting corossion off a frame!?

The frame of my NSR250 is very pitted and has patches all over it where its been standing for a while.

Can anyone recomend anything I can use to get it nice and shiny and looking good again!?

How about getting it powder coated, it would mean a total strip down of the frame but the outcome is worth it.

I tried using 'Kurust' it's a chemical which eliminates corrosion. however you have to be very very careful with it or it turns surrounding areas black (I wasnt careful enough). I'm going to
clean it up again and give the frame a coat of aluminium paint...

I hope this will do the trick, does anyone know otherwise?

Thought about it, but too much hastle. Might rub it down and give it a coat of paint!

Just wandered if there was anything out there like some metal polish or something that would get rid of the blotchy bits!

I have the same problem with my RD. I was recommended sand blasting, then powder coating it, but this proves to be quite costly in some cases. I was told it would cost around 80 quid. The only other thing I can suggest is getting a heat gun, heating up the corroded areas and using a wire brush. Seems to work, my dad did this to his 350LC frame and it came up pretty good.

not with a hot air gun, on a steel bike frame! lol

Id just get my drill with wire brush, get the rust off then generously coat with hammerite.
