Hi,
Just Wondered if anyone knew of any Insurance companies that insure a Restricted Supersports Bike because my current insurers won't insure me on an R6, haven't a clue why? Rolling Eyes lol... But I need to find the cheapest, current quotes consist of £1983 TPO! and £1749 TPO...

Thanks

I'm with CIA insurance, they would insure my on a restricted r6 if I wanted. Of course, if it's factory restricted, it will make a difference to your quotes (well a lot of insurers are going this way) but getting it done by a garage won't make a difference. The insurance company will still see it as a fully powered R6 and give you a quote for one.

What you rang them up for a quote and they wouldn't insure you? That's quite strange, I ride a 600 Bandit at 17 (I know it's no way near as fast, but it's restricted) and I got quoted £307TPFT.

The reference is just my quote reference thing that supposedly gets someone else the best rates available with a tiny bonus for me.

The online quoting system won't let you get quoted on anything over 250cc.

Well I rang them up and I spoke to an Admin member, and everything went fine for a 2001 Yamaha R6 quoted at £886 TPFT which isnt bad for a 17 year old, and then I rang today and a women came on the phone, and I said I just needed to change the quote to a 2004 R6 and then after she went through some details she said She wasn't allowed to insure a restricted supersports bike Confused I'll quote the ref and see what happens... Yea I know about the 250cc thing, thats why I called in the first place

O well, see what happens?

well, Its past 18:00 now so their closed Evil or Very Mad However, I'll give them a call tomorrow and see what happens? It's strange because the admin bloke I spoke to primarily said I could have the insurance policy if they accepted me, duno what that means? Confused And now the woman said I couldn't, damn make up their minds! I'm still trying to get quotes online so If anyone knows any more insurers other then:

Motorcycle Direct
CIA Insurance
Insurance 2000
MCE Insurance

Would be nice, thanx.

lol, Well seems the quote didn't do anything Jon because I'm an existing policy holder. What crap, I can't recommend myself? What is the world coming to? anyway, without hesitation the women I spoke to said "You'll find the 'administration personel' you spoke to was either lieing or it's quite possible he inserted information incorrectly?" So I went thru a quote again believing it would be quite high and came out at £1900 Very Happy wooooooo! Sadly that wasnt the case, Crying or Very sad But anywho, I rang around some more and found that Carole Nash has given me the best quote at £1700 and she said if I wait til my NCB comes up in November I will be looking at a 30% reduction.. so, around £1350.. which maybe isnt bad for an 18 year old at the time on an R6, is it??

I live in West London, its an E* rating (A=cheapest, F=Dearest)
