Trying not to get ahead of myself but hopefully someone will be phoning me with the good news of a new job tomorrow, only thing is I'll have to give up the benefit of a nice new company car and buy my own.. Crying or Very sad

But a car is only to get to from A-B, a bike is for fun. So this means my ZX6R will be getting punted (I'm going for a 636R anyways Mr. Green )

I've attached some pics and here's the story.

I bought it with 16k and mint + standard. It's now done 23k miles.
It's just had a new rear Dunlop 207 (about 600 miles on it tops) Front has loads of life left yet, DID chain and sprockets (about 3k on them) new cush bearing, new head bearings, serviced at 22k miles Tax and MOT's till August 05, Ermax hugger, mini indicators F & R (still to fit the rears) Crash bungs (still to fit).

Only thing is it's been down the road, rides perfect, runs sweet as a nut! It needs some tidying like: New clock bracket (£70) Painting needs to be finished(££), sticker kit needed for the R/S fairing and mud guard side cheeks (£20 tops from Ebay) are also needed...

The only marks left on the bike is the bottom of the front fork has a scratch on it, and the bar end is marked.

Whats it worth if I sell it in this state do you think? I have no idea what to do, I'll need a car quicker than I can finish the bike back to mint condition. I also think I'll put the standard can back on to make it look as tidy as possible.

As I said, it still runs perfect as I managed 300 miles of A and B roads on saturday..

Any suggestions?? Any offers!!?? Thumbs Up

Sorry, it's a 1998 model G1. They ain't fetching much now unless your buying from a dealer then they are up about the 2.8k mark.

I've owned it from July last year it's just getting to the 'needs must' that I'll be selling...

Bike has been garaged from the day I bought it. And the previous owner always had it garaged. It's also fitted with a Datatool Duo Immobiliser and it's Datatagged...

selling privately, I reckon you'd get about 2k for it.

I got my '99 Thunderace, with 47k on the clock for £1500

I know that was a good price cos it needs a little tidying and the owner coulnd't be bothered prior to selling as he was leaving the country for a job in the far east.

Col,

Firstly, sorry I am not buying your bike - thanks for sending me the details though. Secondly, I have put a deposit down for the exact same model (I think - it is a '98 R-plate, looks the same at least) for £2.5k. Initially it was on for £2.9K, so you are about right for £2K privately I reckon.

Good luck selling.

Not after another bike, need a car, a cheap one plus money. The cash is for a car and to help pay for an 03/04 plate 636R.

ZX6R G1 buying private I'd say between £2K and £2.3K for good condition. As you said yours need some tidying (but I'd expect every bike to have scuffs) so as others above put it at the lower end of that range. Expect a bit less if trying for a trade-in.

HTH Thumbs Up
