Hi all,

I've upgraded to AMD64 now so I have spare bits around.

ASUS Skt-A A7N8X Deluxe, awesome board, it even talks to you on bootup!

Spec can be found at the ASUS website, it's FSB400 and very overclockable. PC3200, max 3gb.

The CPU is the FSB400 fully unlocked barton 2500+, aircooled I had this chip to 2.2ghz, watercooled it went to over 2.5ghz (4000+!) with the ASUS board.

Used for about 6 months before upgrading.

Also have a 600W PSU, and a 256mb Geforce FX5700 hanging around too.

Sensible offers Razz

Matt

I'll give you £40 for the lot, but could you give me a price for the PSU alone as well? Is it packaged? Obviously it's been used, but will it come bouncing around in a cardboard box or what?
Cheers G

Sorry, no way £40 for the lot. The board alone is worth that.

The PSU is the QTEC gold one, I have the box around somewhere....it's quite hefty and unlikely to get damaged. Make an offer based off Ebay prices if you like.

£40 new! No problem, I just re-read your description, not keen on an overclocked one. The PSU alone bit was my mate talking not me, so I'll let you know if he's still interested.

Alrite mate, i've been having a look round on the net at the parts you've listed and I can find them pretty cheap; i'm not too keen on the idea that the parts have been overclocked, specifically by the fact there wouldn't be any sort of guarantee with these parts, unless you'd be able to offer a refund if these parts went faulty within a set period of time? Just out of interest too, what make is the graphics card?

Hi Mike,

It's hard for me to offer a warranty because of user error...you could improperly install the board/cpu whatever causing it to fail (I'm not saying you will, it's just a possibility) and then I'd have to give you a refund, and I loose out because I had would then have a broken board/cpu and no money.

The board hasn't been overclocked, only the CPU. At the end of the day, it was kept at less than 35c max load because I have watercooling. Most systems run at 50c, so its probably more healthy than a normal unclocked chip.

I think the CPU is still under warranty from the Ebay seller I got it from...

EDIT: Expired a few weeks ago! Bah!

The GFX is made by Xpertvision.

Do you still have this board and chip?
If so Pm me with what's its worth to you, not wanting to pay OTT because the chances are I will kill it
I could do with a board for overclocking Smile
