Certainly sounds like you've done a burnout for the last 500 miles Laughing Was it new when you bought it?

I would expect at least another 3000 miles of normal riding plus that if it was on the Blade.

Think its a combination of it being downgeared 1 tooth on front 3 up at the back, and a /bit heavy on the throttle.

Arn't D207's for anything up to 400cc, like BT090's??

Theres a fair bit of difference between a 400 and a downgeared 600. But after 600miles, that is shocking.

D207 is for any bike i think. Since when have any 400's have a 180 section rear?

All depends how you ride, anyone can trash a tyre. Just drop the pressure a couple of PSI (to get the heat up quicker) and ride like you stole it.
If you want it to last longer....gues what.....Don't ride like a Numpty (doesn't mean you have to be a saint) and check your tyre pressures regular.

IMO £100 ish every 500miles is a waste of beer money. Rolling Eyes

Ah Wink

I didn't know, was just guessing. As D207's seem to be rivaled againts BT090's, and BT090's are for bikes up to 400cc. Also, i know a few people who ran D207's on 125's.

Surely having a tyre that is suitable for a 600 (or not in your case Razz ) would mean a 125's power would take ages to get it heated??

Or am i talking crap?

A D207 on a 125???
They certainly take longer to warm up than the likes of a BT090 as they are a lot more comparable to a BT020 with the D207R being comparable to a BT010.

'kin 'ell! Surprised

I've just been quoted £220 for a pair of 208RR's for my ZX6.

Sorry to highjack the thread a bit but does anybody know if I will be wasting my money and have the same problems/ life as Dr Nick did with his 207's?

I think you can get a D207 to fit an RS125, not that you'd want to!

GPR70SP is a 125-400cc tyre. I'm running a pair at the moment that need replacement. They've lasted around 2500 miles on a downgeared vfr400, including a couple track days.

You didn't fit the 207RR instead of the standard 207 did you ?

Checked your suspension settings?

My zx9 tyres didn't look that bad after 500 miles; and that was with race scrubs and burnouts.

Speaking of which.. can do you a nice pair of 120/180 supercorsas in decent condition for a good price Smile.

No way, I used to have D207's and the bikes downgeared the same as yours (hornet6) and a fan of wheelies... you are doing something wrong/your bikes not set-up correctly.

I've now got 010's on and these don't last as long as D207's and I've put 700miles on them pulling wheelies at every opportunity and there's no sign of wear Confused

Heavy engine braking and front brakes really, back brake never really gets used, think its the standard suspension setup, only adjustable preload, but i havent a clue how to adjust it and dont want to mess it up by playing with it.

Its a D207 not the RR.

This WILL be the last set of tyres going on it (8th rear since november 2003 and with 4 months off road, nocrankcase/ban). Am cleaning her up to be sold atm Smile
