Testing top speed abandoned airfield??

Hi guys/gals

I remember reading somewhere that there was an abandoned airfield where you could pay the organisers £20 to allow you use their strip to test out your top speed and practise stunts

I dont want to try out top speed runs on the motorway as getting caught/hurting somone would not be good.

Hi

Probably Elvington near York where on the drag race meetings from one lane you can do a flyer on the full length of the runway to get a top speed run (give or take a bit for riding through the boards at the end ).

if you hurt youreslf they would be liable and it gets very expensive

as Keith says, if you want to find out what your bike will REALY do then pay the £40 and run in a Straightliners event at Elvington

their's a nice big un-used airstrip near me (kind of near me), they use it to fly model rc planes. It has locked gates but I just so happen to know the combination probably be able to get your bike through the gate anyway it's only to stop cars going on it not people.

Try the A702 from Penicuik to Biggar, there is a nice big straight bit there, you can peg your bike out there no probs, eh Wishaykille!?
