If you already own a Mito you'd be as well keeping it, but I know I'd never have minded buying an RG, they look far better than the rest of the 125 sports (mito excluded) I think. As for speed they are a bit slower than Mito/RS. ____________________ Northern Irish? www.nibikers.com |

I have an RG125 FUN '94.
It let me down a lot in the first few months due to being a grey import write off, however after a few tweakings here and there (and the bloody oil pump being adjusted, aswell as the whole front end being replaced by yours truly, someone who has no clue about bikes) the thing runs fine.
Powervalve kicks in at around 7-8000 revs. When it does kick in, the front suspension lifts right up.
Standard exhaust on mine, no intention of changing it. Said to be about 33BHP which aint bad for a 125.
Top speed I've had it is 100 and it wasnt redlining, then again I am a skinny little git. Only problem is, when it does go wrong, it goes wrong and costs a pretty penny.
Normal maintenence like break pad changing etc. you can do yourself without a problem. Parts are readily available on

I love it, its a thrill and plenty knee-down action on the way to work, specially with the nutty drivers we have in Bristol when the B*****ds pull in front of you and your back wheel locks up.
I get plenty heads turn when they see the bike and every other biker gives you the nod (which is bloody nice!!!)
Get it mate, all the little 17 year olds on their Mito's and RS125's will be kickin themselves (I'm 22 and loving it!!!). |

The RG125 de-restricted makes more than 20bhp, its more like 26-27. A lot of RG125's hit 33bhp, as do some RS's, Mito's etc. ____________________ Honda MBX50 | Yamaha RD125LC | Suzuki RG125F Lucky Strike | Suzuki GSF600S
