I came into Uni on the bike today to hand in some work, I was feeling quite happy as you do.

Anyway, I see this "L plater" on a dirt bike 125 pushing it along, so I hop off and ask him what's up. Says it doesn't start, well OK I said I'd give him a push and after a bit of huff and puff the thing started. Nice, I feel even better now.

Hang in work and then head out to the duallys for a bit of fun.

I was almost there, about 2 miles from the Uni, when I noticed this guy again pushing his bike in an obscure side road. Laughing . I double backed and stopped where I found him red faced, knackered and literally laying on the ground.

"what's up this time?" Confused
"bloody thing cut out, I had to push it from the Uni roundabout" (over 2 miles away)

"hmmm" I say, "you tried reserve?"

*Silence*

"errrrrrm that might work" he replies
"try it" I say...

It fired up straight away. Laughing Doh! Brick Wall Shifty

I was laughing so much inside. His face said it all. Embarassed

There you go, bed time now kiddies. Mr. Green

I ran out of fuel for the first time last weekend, conveniently just before a layby, didn't know what was happening at first. Lost some power so I opened the throttle all the way, it kicked forwards a bit, then just died. Now I'm paranoid about running out since I don't have a fuel gauge and havn't got used to it yet, so I'm filling up all the time, even if it hardly needs it. Put £2 in the other day.

Awww bless! and well done you for helping out.

After years of experience, I do know that it takes making a total tw@t out of yourself sometimes, before it becomes a learning experience.

How many of us now have a mental checklist of stuff that arose out of stupid experiences? (particularly with a 2 stroke...)

Miss.

(Who forgot was on reserve last week, and made it to the petrol station near Ikea on vapour, and pushed the 650 the last several yards... Laughing Boy, you feel like a tw@t)

Rode 35 miles to a rally on one cylinder once (and all the way back), due to fitting a new petrol tap that turned the opposite way to the other tap. Embarassed

On the plus side, I got extremely pissed, had a brill time and won the jousting and the Rat Bike trophy Thumbs Up

Live and learn.

Cheers,

Byrnie.
