pretty much at bends.

Sometimes when a car stops in front of me.

Is there another way to check?

I take the calipers off, split them and polish the pistons twice a year

of course this means bleeding and a fluid change as well

When i check the tyre pressures, gear oil, stroker oil, chain tension, brake fluid levels, coolant level, lights and engine mounts.

So, every week (when i'm using it....)

i usually test them when i get to around 50mph, realise im heading for a tree and skip green, yellow, and red alert and go straight to brown alert.

Tend to check then every few weeks or so.

Pull the caliper off, take the pads out and just give them a slight rub with a clean piece of wet & dry to break any glaze that may have formed on them.

Cheers,

Byrnie.

When they stop working! Laughing

Nah, Its a really easy job to check my brakes on my speedfight, Just a quick look at the calliper and you can see the brake pads.

On the speedfights the brake pads come from the shop with only about 4mm on them. So they wear out REALLY quick. Ok I do the odd stoppie and wheelie, But I go through brakepads in 3 month intervels!

I check mine weekly, I also buy in a few sets of pads/shoes so if I need to change them I have them on hand. I'm lucky that all three bikes use the same pads/shoes.
