what do you think?! Thumbs Up Thumbs Down

I love it... looks a bit luminous as the flash went off, but it matches the red on the 'CBR' perfectly.

pretty much yeah... got them off a guy on ebay... its quite a stretchy plastic, need to be very patient in putting them on, but think they add a bit of character to the wheels..

Yeah, a Thumbs Up from me too.

Gives the wheels, as you said, more character. Much better than just being black. Smile

yeah, simple enough to fit... would have been easier with a paddock stand.. Embarassed
It comes in four bits for each side of the wheel, so you do it in quarters... then slightly overlap as each new bit is added... its slightly stretchy too which makes it easy to guide around the wheel.

Seen them crop up on ebay quite a bit recently.
Mine are painted on but yours look easily as good, and I suppose if you change your mind you can just peel them off again, or change colour. Thumbs Up

I've seen these. Is there no chance of them coming off and wrapping around the spindle? Is the glue strong enough do you think?

I should be very surprised if whatever glue they use would be unstuck very easily. The glue will be in shear so will be more difficult to dislodge too, rather than peeling off. Much less glue is trying to be torn in peeling than in shear, so peeling requires much less force. Hence, get the edges stuck down properly and you shouldn't have any trouble. The wind will catch the edges and make them peel if they aren't stuck properly too I should think.

The forces on the transfer will be trying to drive it radially away from the centre of the wheel, so they'd probably slip onto the tyre and get ripped off by the road rather than fall into the spindle. They'll be made of a thin weak plastic which would be unlikely to clog anything anyway.

The whole paintjob was done by Rapier Paints in Hull, couldn't tell you how much though as I bought the bike painted like that in 2002.
