Just part exchanged my ER-5 for a new beast! so excited!

I have been down to my local honda dealership and have ordered a brand new one of these!

Its in full repsol colours, cannot wait to de-restrict it and put a micron can on it, should be able to top 90mph. especially as it is the repsol one.

You cannot derestrict them, adding a micron can will just make it sound better, it will do 75mph tops.

This will be way quicker than My old ER-5 once its de-restricted and a micron can on it.

I figured that I the ER-5 weighs like 180KG and the power is just sapped by the weight.

My new repsol CBR 125 is much lighter, once its de-restricted it will have nearer 25hp and the micron will add another 5hp and it will sound beastly.

The CBR will easily out handle the numb old ER-5 and be more comfortable and more stylish!

one week to wait!

will be a right babe magnet too unlike the ER-5.

Nice one tom lass. I'd have slappped you if it wasn't the repsol job. Always thought they looked a bit puny until I saw a repsol one in a honda showroom last thursday. I think in this case, you get a shiteload more than what you pay for.

I kinda wish I had done the same now I think the Bandit is gonna be a bit boring and it is so heavy, with the CBR125 I think it would be easier to handle and like you said it pulls the babes on in and at college you gotta look so fucking cool. They will think my Bandit is ugly, might trade it in cause that Repsol one is the bollocks.

Oh yeah I heard that Micron can is louder than any exhaust for any other bike!!!

Seriously, they aren't restricted to start with, you won't get any substantial power increase. 13bhp is all you'll get.

I had one for 6 months on L's, and to be honest, got seriously bored with the lack of power.

A micron can will give you a 23.5% power increase, so that makes 14.6bhp.

I would think hard about this one to be honest. They look good from the side but are soo skinney when actually sitting on the bike.

If you love the bike then sure, but if your thinking it will be powerful, it won't. Stick to 2 pokers.

If your really keen, a full endurance system would be the best mod. See www.125ccsportsbikes.com. While you're there, ask them what sort of power you are likely to get, and it won't be anywhere near an er-5!.

What ever floats you boat mate.

They are very reliable and very very cheap to run tho. 2.5k service was £40.

This was my bike that I traded in got £400 trade against the CBR
The bike is a C1 2001 ER-5 with 12,000 miles so I got a class deal on that.

Which means I have only got to pay £2000 for the repsol CBR.

I got the guy to throw in the micron can. oh and he is de-restricting it for me before I pick it up so I will have to run it in.

But being able to crack 90mph should be cool on that. should be quicker than my old bike 0-60 too!

Look on the 125cc forum and ask there advice. £2k is a lot of money.

Seriously, I'm just trying to help. If you're buying a CBR because you want a quicker bike, it isn't going to happen.

Look on www.125ccsportsbikes.com and ask people that actually ride the bike and know them inside out.

I had 1 for 6months, and honestly, it isn't ever going to be a quick bike.

Even putting a larger section rear tyre in has a drastic affect on it's power.

That is a much more recent pic of my old ER-5 £400 is a cracking price for it considering 12,000 miles is a lot and it has a slight mark on the tank. so the guy at the dealership got me a great deal.

I know the CBR is poor restricted but I have a full licence so I can legally ride it.

My insurance quote for it was £512 Third party only considering I was paying £252 third party fire and theft on the ER-5 which is slower.

Only a week to go!

Im going for a rideout to the lakes next sunday with the blackbirds owners club, they will be proper impressed with my new beast!
