Anybody got any tips? It's only Monday and I am already a quivering wreck. My test is Wednesday at 11.41am and I have to be at training school at 10AM to go over E-stops and U-Turns once again. I just know that the nerves are going to win me over and I will breakdown. Sad

I know I am more than capable about passing i'm just so shite scared.

Peppermint or cinnamon do wonders for calming people down and helping them concentrate apparently.

If you know you can pass it, then think of passing, not of failing. If you convince yourself you're going to fail then you probably will. Think positive.

What's the worst that could happen? You have to wait a few weeks before you do it again? Big deal, it's not exactly something to be scared off.

You know you're capable of passing. Your instructor said that you were good. You enjoyed the ride and you love bikes. You can do this! Just take things slow and if you get a weird feeling in your tummy talk to yourself and say " Fuck you I can fucking pass this test and I'm not fucking nervous" and go on about it. You can do it, take things slow and hopefully you'll be going to bike meets Thumbs Up .

I was much less nervous on my bike test than car.

Because when you're on your bike, it's your bike that you know and have ridden before.

You're there alone, there's no-one sitting next to you watching your every move. Just ride for yourself, talk to yourself if it helps.

Just get the U-turn and E-stop right and everything else is just riding to/from the test centre.

I passed first time.

don't let yourself start thinking the nerves will get to you Neutral

just try and relax and breathe, keep telling yourself you can do it. try and visualize riding the bike in your head and doing everything right first time. you can do it mate. just enjoy the ride ! Thumbs Up

I read Ride a while back when someone thought they made a major fault pulling out of the test centre, so drove as if they had failed and didn't care about the result anymore.

What works for one doesn't work for another. I just took my time and talked to myself througout, reminding myself to check mirrors, cancel signals etc.

Good luck either way Thumbs Up

^^^^ Laughing

Stop worrying you big wuss, not as if your life is in the line. Without any confidence, you'll get nowhere in life. Have a bit of faith. Only a silly test. Besides, your bandit is doing its job well at the moment........collecting dust.

If you are truly truly shitting your pants you can go to the Docs and ask for some beater blockers.. Your heart cant race on them and its doesnt matter what you think about nothing phases you. You cant take them if you suffer with astma or breathing problems. They dont space you out either..

Seems a little OTT for a bike test. Surely if you are that nervous, maybe you don't have confidence to be out on the road in the first place.

Just ride confidently like you know what your doing! Even if something goes wrong just keep going, allot of the time what you though waqs serious was not all that bad Thumbs Up

Its just another ride, do all your checks, keep with the flow of traffic, stay cool and in controll.. your examiner is not out to get you, they are bikers too don't forget.

I used them for my car test which i had failed on twice before passing the third time. Being of a nervous disposition shouldnt mean you can never qualify to use the roads. Smile Sometimes its not about being nervous using the roads it just the test situation that unnerves you..

Wank yourself silly on the morning of the test, and flood yourself with the feelgood factor. Crack an extra one off in the test centre loo while you're waiting.

You can buy something called "Bach's remedy" from boots or other chemists. You put 4 drops into a glass of water and it calms you down, this works well for me being a generally nervous person. Only costs a few quid.

It's easy to do, you should fly through. I wasn't nervous at all because i knew i could re-take if i needed to.

Although when i was in the process of doing my test the examiner called me to pull in on the side of the road. I thought he was going to tell me i had failed but it was to do the U-Turn, so you know if you have to pull over thats why. Thumbs Up

Nerves are good. Over confidence can lead to failure. When you do begin your test your nerves will go. Just imagine that the test is a lesson and do what the examiner says. Pay extra attention to road positioning and checks before commiting to a right turn.

I speak from experience, I was nervous, and even more so when 20 minutes before the test me and my instructor went for a last ride and he was knocked off his bike by a police car. Now that really knackers your nerves and I still passed!!

So just relax and enjoy it Thumbs Up

Let us know how you get on.

Take the test on the schools bike, that way you don't worry about the machine.

Ride to prove to yourself you can do it and not the examiner.

Just enjoy the ride and have fun. Treat it as a 'what to expect' scenario.

The only pressure on you is from yourself, so again, just try to enjoy yourself.

Behave youself for 45mins and that's it mate.

Worked for me anyway. Thumbs Up
