Anyone done this course?
https://www.thewheelieschool.co.uk/index.htm
I'm doing it as part of my birthday present in a few weeks and wanted to know what it's like. Also would it be worth while to get the photographer?
Can't wait, Bandit 1200. |

Paul is a top bloke, never met him but have spoken to him online about various things, he's pretty good at what he does, entered the uk stunt champs, qualified and finished 17th!! that's THE WORLD.. some of the top riders in there like Joni Tammela and Tony D etc etc so he's pretty good...
Heard his instruction is also top notch, Veggie Dave from IQ18 films also works for him, and veggie is vvvv good at stunting so you'd be in good hands for a wheely instructor..!!
All in all have fun etc etc.... photographer might be a good idea if you want some good pics ____________________ Current Toys: 06 Yamaha WR250F | Nissan 350Z GT | Tech 4 Homes |

I think in realty you already know how to wheelie but making that right hand open the throttle that quick is harder than it seems for beginers the easiest way to crash a wheelie is being too on and off with the throttle and trying to ride one out in 1st till she hits the limitter and smashes you nuts on the tank possibly causing a wipe out too I thought long and hard before I got on and started popping mono's but now it's easy if you just go slow and don't get too anxious in the early weeks a good indicator is to sit up nice and relaxed pop the front up and wait till you see the wind screen starting to block the vision of the road now just feather the throttle nice and gently to maintain the height and keep your eyes on the road in front while remaining relaxed sounds easy hey! well it's not as easy as it sounds but I found it a good starting point good luck with your wheelie good day! ____________________ Those bloody footpegs......they ought to do away with em! |

After a days training at wheelie school you still would be far from competent, and most flipping incidents happen when you get over cocky. So your still going to be risking your bike when you give it a go afterwards. ____________________ https://photobucket.com/albums/y1/Frazladazla |

it all comes down to assesment of risk.. and tbh, anyone that thinks they are a competent wheeliemeister after only a days training, deserves to have to replace their bodywork.. if anything, you should be even MORE nervous, rather than cocky, cos a: it's your OWN bike, and b: it's not the same bike tyou learnt to wheelie on.. different weight, power, delivery etc...
you could say the same for someone who's just passed their test and then piles into a car head on in less than 6 months cos they can't corner confidently enouigh on twisty country roads in the west coast of scotland some sunny saturday afternoon in septmeber, and end up with a split pelvis and crushed wrist..
hmm have I given too much away?? :s ____________________ Mudskipper wrote: feef, that is such a beautiful post that it gave me a lady tingle

<<<< I can get the front up but not keep it at the balance point. Hopefully i can learn how to do that. Also if i drop it it's not my problem at the school which is cool. Also it's a Bandit 12 and i'm currently restricted to 33BHP. |

Yeah, but most people I've met who are wheelie experts seem to spend their time smashing their forks to bits, breaking seals etc. Surely you can't knock someone for learning control. Sure, you can teach yourself but it's at the expense of your own bike and will take much longer. |
Spose
Gone through 8 rear tyres, 2 clutches, set of head bearings, 2 chin and sprockets, clutch cable, set of fork seals, crankcase (chain snapped and took it with it) all since i started wheelying , not going to do as many on my new bike when i get it. ____________________ is that it |
