Depends how long the straight is!

On a shorter straight the lighter bikes gered for acceloration would win, on a longer one top speed would determine the winner.

Overall there is sod all betwean the bikes in each group ont he average straight as wha some lack in top speed they make up for in acceloration.

About 5mph difference between the 600's (around 160-165mph) and about 5mph difference between all the thou's (around 180mph). That's from the test's ive read anyway.

The CBR125 would own them all on a race-track though!

For the 600s, it will depend how good the engine is in that batch more than the actual model of bike I suspect.

For the thou's, I believe the latest GSXR has the most powerful engine, followed by the ZX10R.

MCN figures (although I'm sure they would be different unless the same rider did the runs back to back at the same place on the same day):

GSXR600 155mph*
ZX6R 167mph
CBR600 161mph
R6 162mph*

GSXR1000 186mph
CBR1000 178mph
ZX10R 180mph
R1 178mph

* Figures quoted are from earlier model as current model top speed is not listed.

I think the extra torque from the extra 37cc's on the kwak and 51cc's on the daytona would put them at the highest top speed for the 600 class the fastest I had my 2004 ZX-6R up to with standard gearing was an indicated 292KMPH so probably about 270ish actual speed, but that was with all the fruit bolted on and tuned on the dyno to put out 118.4 BHP about 8 months ago Mr. Green
