Yes, apologies for my tardiness on that front. Was going to post at the weekend, but too busy riding it Razz .

Basically, after all that fuss about wanting a 1000 twin (which I still think would rock, but the insurance too much for me), I "settled" for the ZX6R, thinking it would be 'ok' but not necessarily a stellar experience.

How wrong . . . picked it up saturday (£2.5K, 1998, 20K+ miles)

It is awesome. I love it. Theoretically not much more power than my fazer, but its lighter, in a higher state of tune, and the handling is out of this world compared to what I'm used to. It feels perfect and controled, yet also exciting. I think it is a kwak thing, they just feel so visceral and alive. They have personality.

Had an ace weekend riding it. Infact, was the first time I'd ever a) been out for a ride with someone else or b) riden the whole day for no reason other than just to ride it. Went to box hill, then to Brighton, and all over. Ace weather and great roads.

Sunday also went out, hooked up with Sadie who showed me St Alban's finest back lanes, which are really ace. Thumbs Up to Sadie and St Albans.

Slight bad points:

Even though the dealer (Daytona Ruislip) said they'd service it before I took it, the front brake needed bleeding, the chain was slapping all over the place, and one of the tail lights is blown, none of which I really noticed until saturday.

Anyway spoke to them this morning and the salesman sounded suitably embarassed and apologetic, so taking it in on Saturday to get sorted.

But apart from niggles, it is such a fantastic machine. I love riding a sports bike. Its just such a more exciting experience than the 600 commuter - which I still love, but just not as much as the kwak. Very Happy

Oh, sorry no pics yet. ASAP. (Basically same as Colin's I think).

That would be Sadie's ZX9R, which rocks precisely 50% more than my ZX6R does, which means quite a lot.

@ colin. Absolutely mate. It is the canine's particulars. Really glad I didn't choose anything else now. Even though it could do with a bit more power, it is nice to have a full on sports bike with all that handling.

Enough power for the road I say....
More than enough, you'll never reach it's limits anyway. You'll also probably never have anything go wrong with it, mines has been a rock but bit of advise......fit crash bungs! No really, best mod you'll make to it....

And if it's not got a race can, buy one.

Honey, if you know the things that this man is prepared to do for his girlfriend, you would know how much he loves her and how little chance an older woman like me would stand.

I won't embarrass him (much), but sufficeth it to say that he is missing a bike rally for the sake of (wait for it!) the Eurovision Song Contest!

But anyway Fran, I am not "tall" - which is the primary pre-requisit for young Liz.

I would like to point out that neither am I short. Just not "tall" thats all. Nope, not sensitive about it either.

We took the A1081 from South Mimms Services to St Albans and took the London Colney bypass to London Colney, up the A414 to Park Street roundabout, up Watling Street and then King Harry Lane. Swung right at next roundabout and then left at following to head to Redbourn. Turned left at Redbourn towards Hemel Hempstead, through industrial bit to take the old A414 (A4142?) through Leverstock and back to St Albans.

We were not going slowly (except through villages).
