Took my Blackbird in for it's 16000 mle service here. Now I was naive enough to think they would know what they were doing so just told them I wanted the full monty as per Honda's maintenance schedule. Got A phone call telling me the bike was ready. Asked a few questions and then asked if the valve clearences went ok.
"We didn't do the valve clearences"
"Why not"
"You didn't ask for it"
"It's part of Honda's maintenance schedule at 16000 mile service"
"Well we couldn't have done it coz we would have needed it over night"
"So keep it over night but I want the valves done"
"Can't it's a bank holiday weekend"
"So I've taken a full day off work for half a service"
"No it's a full service just not including valve clearances"

Futher checks back home and they haven't changed the fluids, Didn't change the rear pad even though there's only a mill left on it and have lost half the plastic fairing pop rivets.
Now I'm about to do 3000 miles around Europe and am wondering what else they haven't done. Looks like I'll have to do the stuff they didn't myself so another day off work and to be honest I don't fancy doing the shims myself but can't get it booked into anywhere before the trip.

What a bunch of fookin amatures! They even had the cheek to stamp my service book!!!

These rip off merchants should be condemned to hell if they really are bikers like you and me they would know what to do customer service should be high priority. Evil or Very Mad

If it's obvious that they haven't changed the fluids i.e the oil is still black then your local Trading Standards may be interested as they could possibly prove criminal offences under the Trade Descriptions Act, especially if you have an invoice for oil/filter changes when it's plainly obvious that you have an old oil filter still fitted (showing signs of wear and tear) to the bike and the oil is not the correct colour that would equate to an oil change.

I'd threaten them with a visit to your local Trading Standards if they do not offer you some form of remuneration. Bear in mind that your local TSD might not take the case on as the offences that have occured are somewhat difficult to prove in view of the fact that the chain of evidence is marred due to you having taken the bike from the workshop and not having any solid 'Before and After' evidence.

Still worth a visit to the shop stating what you intend to do should they not offer you reimbursement even if you don't fancy going along that route - It's surprising how far you can get with a bit of legal knowledge combined with a bit of Bullshit Wink

They have changed the oil but the break and clutch fluids are still the coca cola colour they were before it went in. They haven't charged me for anything they haven't done they just haven't done a proper service. And I get tired of seeing copperslip plastered everywhere when they obviously haven't actually undone anything to require it applied. e.g. the chain tensioner bolt has copperslip dabbed down one side od the threads. there's nowt on the underside of the threads and it hasn't been moved.
If your gonna use copperslip then fair enough but don't use it to try and convince a punter you've done all the work
