Anyone know what they mean by that? lol what's the question?
"if the pillion is a fat ass making you wobble alot do you kick him off the back of the bike or inflate your tyres an extra 25%" ?

Something about asking pillions to lean with you in corners and something about how braking and acceleration will be different with a pillion I'd guess?

Typical question is:

"You enter a left hand bend, the pillion doesnt lean with the bike, what effect does this have?"

Answer: the bike won't corner as well and may run wide onto the wrong side of the road.

You will also be asked what to do to prepare the bike for a pillion, what you should tell a pillion before allowing them on the bike, and what effect having a pillion may have on the bike at low speed, when braking and accelorating.

My examiner asked me what I should tell a pillion if they've never been on a bike before.

So things like: Sit facing forwards
Straddle the seat (ie, not riding side saddle)
Keep feet on the footpegs

That sort of thing.

What should you check or adjust on the bike before carrying an extra load or passenger?
You should check/adjust your tyre pressure, rear suspension, mirrors and headlight beam.

How will carrying a passenger affect the bike's performance?
The bike will be slower to accelerate, take longer to stop and be more unstable when going round bends, corners and at slow speeds.

What must your bike have to allow you to take a passenger?
The bike must have a proper seat and foot rests. The passenger must also have a British Standards approved helmet fastened correctly at all times.

What should you tell someone if they have never ridden pillion before?
Your passenger must be properly dressed for Motorcycling wear the right clothing. They must straddle the bike facing forward (not side saddle), keep their feet on the pegs at all times, hold on (either rider or grab rails) don't get on or off until you say. Lean with the bike on the bends and do not sit upright when cornering (otherwise you'll make the bike unstable). Do not give signals to other road users and try to keep still (no distractions).
