someones offered me a zzr250 going very cheap, doesnt have any mot and has been stood for abit. It starts just needs some easy jobs doing. Alot of the paintwork has faded and am wanting to know how easy it is to paint - what paint do you need and will it look even?

I will be repainting my zzr250 soon, I bought a whole fairing kit for £65 it's already primed just needs spraying.

How cheap did you get it for out of interest?

Great little bikes aswell, my engine aquired death rattle recently though .

£500, and mechanically its great i just want to tart it up abit, would i need to buy new fairings or could i just spray all the bits white and then spray the colour on as theres no cracks or anything.

You'd have to get the colour matched exactly, otherwise you will see where you have been over very easily.

I'd give it a damn good cleaning & polishing first to find out how bad it really is.. and do NOT use T cut...

1200 is used to smooth out orange peel finish in clear coat, ya sand primer with 320-400, maybe 600 if ya like hard work, then throw the colour on followed by the clear coat, then hit it with 1000/1200 & then get the power tools out.
For sanding primer I use 320/360 for single stage & 400/500 for base/clear finishes.
