Like loosing your viginity i'm sure you'll never forget it! It was on the duel carrage way in Coleshill Birmingham on my GSF400 Bandit. I said i'd be a sensible rider and ride at reasonable speeds but when I saw that open stretch of road the dark side took over. I held on for grim death whilst the wind and vibrations tried to wrestle me off the bike. My dodgy helmet visor snapped shut as I passed 80 & as I hit the tonne I gave a triumphent "yeeeeeeeeeeehaaaaaaaaaw". Almost as good as sex!!!

A12 from Colchester towards Ipswich, after picking up my ZXR400, and having my licence 1 day...

Swiftly followed by a buttock clenching moment as I realised cornering at 100mph is somewhat different on a bike.

I forced myself to ride more carefully after that and build my ability slowly.

The Mito read 100mph once (doubtful), but then it broke.

The VFR likes 100mph, first time was coming back from buying it from Wales, my GF was behind in the 306. I gave it some stick and couldn’t believe it. Just a bit shit it’s that addictive.

Followed an oldish bloke (I was 19 at the time) on a ZXR750 with pillion out from an airfield in Essex after a flying lesson.

Thought 'can't let them get away', and looked down to see my KLR indicating 98 or so; which is pretty damn fast for something of that ilk .

[Method]

Going down the A1 from stamford, down a little hill that goes under the bridge by the little chef got 90mph on my NSR the week before and topped 105 indicated on the GS although i must say it was the most horrifically scary and arm aching moment of my road biking career as the bars seemed to have a mind of their own, and at the same time, the front wheel was deciding it didnt want to follow the bars either

EDIT: I'd hit 100 loads of time before that in the corsa going down to newquay and back. I once had the corsa up to an indicated 120 mph revs stuck at 5600 rmp wouldn't go anymore yet redline was at 6000 - 7000, coming back from rockingham along the A1, had to move over cause this beemer was up my arse and made me look like I was standing still

Obviously not done it on my own bike, but first time was in a Ford Escort I think, about 10 years ago on the motorway. Was certainly amusing holding 120 for about 10 minutes, constantly watching the mirror in the passenger sun screen for the .

Other than that, been on pillion past the tonne a couple of times. It was quite relaxing once I got used to the windblast whenever I wanted to stick my head up and have a look where we were going. The parts which scared me were the accelerations. The VFR750 and Fazer 600 don't half pick up their skirts and go! I got plenty of arm exercise trying not to fall off the back.

1980 on the A414 near St Albans. I was on a mates GT250 approaching the Park Street roundabout when two lines of stationary traffic approched very fast! Good job I can filter eh! (I have clocked the Ace at 170, on a private road of course).

I managed an indicated 100 on my rs for the first time on my birthday, within about 15 minutes of going out on it.

If i never broke the magical 100 on that i did when i had a go on a friends R1 on the way to tamworth, it indicated 125 so must have gone clean past it.
