Mr bike is now quite good friends with mr crash barrier.
Damage to me:
Nothing, scuffed leathers
Damage to bike:
Fucked right handlebar and mirror, very scuffed fairing, broken cooling fin.
Damage to parents heart rates:
sever.
Anyway, I was on my way to meet some guys off another forum for a rideout, didn't quite make it all the way. You can see the scrape marks I made, and the car just to the right is an ambulance.

New handlebar, bit of a spray job, new throttle, new grips and I'll be back on the road.
The funny thing is, I was wearing sunglasses when I crashed, and I have no idea where they went!

All I can say is that at least you have the decency not to blame it on a car driver of which most people who bin it are too scared to admit rider error.

Sorry to hear you crashed, but to be honest if you was doing knee down on that roundabout then you deserve to crash.. maybe it'll bring you back down from the clouds and into reality
Knee down is cool and good, but time and a place and all that... look how busy that roundabout is? thank fuck you didn't hit anyone!!
No offence... some traffic on a roundabout is one thing but from your pic theres a LOT of traffic, looks like city centre type roundabout, serves you right to be honest and just be happy you/somoene else isn't dead!
And surely you should know better than trying it on cold tyres??
Just because you can get your knee down doesn't mean you gotta try and do it everywhere ____________________ Current Toys: 06 Yamaha WR250F | Nissan 350Z GT | Tech 4 Homes |

That was my point. Most people come on here and say "oh some chav wanker in a Nova/Fiesta/mercedes cut me up and I was angry and I am crying and I never skidded!!!" Some people just have too much pride. ____________________ Be careful whose advice you buy, but, be patient with those who supply it. Thats a bummer mate. But I wouldn't worry too much, they're strong bikes, take a battering. At least you can learn from your mistake, but I know if I had a powerful bike like that, I'd also be dangerous
Glad your alright anyway matey. ____________________ Honda MBX50 | Yamaha RD125LC | Suzuki RG125F Lucky Strike | Suzuki GSF600S

I'm sorry to hear that mate. Before I was a member, I used to follow your progress on getting your knee down, and it's a shame it's ended like this. Question is, in crashing, have you learnt anything?
I had my front tyre let go today, as fluke had it, I (or the bike) saved it. What's a good way of warming up the tyres? Like, both sides? That's what stops me from just swooping down I think, I like to go round a few times and build up confidence. Any hints on tyre warming? I've had the front slide before, but I've managed to hold onto it.
The only way to warm tyres is just to ride around. My habit is just to chuck the bike over, and 99 times out of 100 it just does it with no problems. This time, I'm sliding.
Over cockyness was the bastard of this one.
Just looking for a right handlebar for an XJ600, keep your eyes open people.
And a throttle assembly and a right mirror.

I think my old man is breaking a P Plated Diversion. He has a full bike, I could see what he wants for the bits you are talking about. He has stripped it and was going to get the frame etc, powder coated, but can't be bothered putting it back together.
I don't know if it would fit yours though, and its in Scotland. |
