OK so here it is. After being financially crippled by buying a Thunderace I had to go through the traumatic experience of selling it. But the guy I sold it to threw this in the deal aswell. Basically i've paid £250 for it. It runs well, just needs a few things doing to it to pass the MOT (brake pads & tyre). So yeah.......for £250, what do you think?

I just can't get past the colour. Maybe if the the belly pan was either completely yellow or comletely black it might be better. The rider position was also a surprise having just got off my Thunderace.

That's a lotta bike for £250 - nice one. Don't worry about the colour, just paint it yourself - it will be a nice project and doesn't matter if you bugger it up . . . .

. . . unlike if someone were to paint somebody else's Virago, for example . . . Whistle

Don't worry, I won't mess it up Liz

Gracie has very graciously offered to do the paintwork on my Virago which has been off the road for 3 years.

I have agreed to supply coffee and beer to keep him going while he does it. Laughing

And I KNOW he won't mess it up, 'cos I trust him! Wink

looks like a nice bike for £250..

being so cheap it means you can have some fun on it.. or fix it up and profit from it, can't go wrong either way..

and as they said any bike is better than no bike..

and for the colour scheme, it may look like a bee, but at least it doesn't sound like one! Laughing

It's the black squares! Why on earth did someone decide to put those on there? This can't be a factory paint job can it?

Looks like the tanks had quite a ding there mate.
Looks pretty sweet though, big fan of black and yellow here, though the sort of "scribble square" motif is a little individual Very Happy

Nah, the tanks fine, it's just the way the light is. The whole thing is in pretty top condition. One very little chip on the nose but that's it.

Well it's a 1991 Kawasaki ZZR600D, 42000 miles on the clock. Braided hoses and race can. Standard immobiliser and god awful paint job. It needs a new back tyre and brake pads all around (total to spend £135). An MOT, some tax and away you go. Rides well, engine sounds sweet, idles nicely at 1000rpm. The only fault which is apparantly a common fault on this model is 2nd gear. If you give it too much beans in 2nd it jumps into neutral. Rather than spend money fixing this fault i'm just gonna ride the bike until death avoiding 2nd gear and then break it to make my money back.

Very nice, did you pay £250 altogether, or £250 with your bike paying off some of it? :EDIT: I just saw the picture of your old bike, ouch that must've been a heart wrencher. On the other hand, I'd pay £300 for your new bike any day of the week! The paint job is quite personal, isn't it, but nothing horrendous. Besides, just ride it fast and it'll be a dark brown to everyone looking instead!
