Quick review of Castrol Bike Polish by oni:

Cost - £4
Size - 600ml
Rating - 4/5

While browsing in halfords for some Chain Lube I came across a reasonably priced tin of Castrol Bike Polish (CBP) which I threw into my basket without much notice. It wasn't until the other day I actually checked the stuff out, was out cleaning the bike and decided to give it an extra clean. Reading the tin it became apparent that it was much more useful than that. It claims to be able to clean bikes without water which I found to be interesting as my usual method of cleaning usually left streaks which required to be buffed out. It also claimed to be good at cleaning the bike windscreen so I put it to the test. It was so effective and quick to use (and nice smelling!) that I quickly had the bike up to its best condition yet, my screen is crystal now! So I decided to use it on my helmet as well. Not only is my (bike..) helmet looking shiny new my Visor is as well - and get this - mist free. I have always suffered varying degrees of misting problems with this lid - occupational hazard if you are a heavy breather like me Wink - and this is the first time I never had to leave it slightly open Thumbs Up Also now when bugs splash my screen I can now lip read their dying wishes it is so clean! It has also had a rather interesting effect on rain hitting my bike, whenever it rains the water seems to drip of my bike far far quicker, noticeably so - a rather cool effect at the same time.

Alas the only problem I have noticed with CBP is its price - while not expensive, it is designed to be used without water so a lot of it gets used. I can see myself using an awful lot of it keeping my bike shiny (and my lid clean!).

A definate 4/5.
